Dracos

O'karn nodded, turning to look towards the mountains considering.

Fearless Leader
I assume we can see the mountains from where we are.
Well, Goodbye.

To both the north and the south, O'karn could see the line of mountains outlining the valley creating a backdrop to the trees.  He could easily discern that distance between the two sides were coming closer together as they traveled west.  He could also see the plateau both sides offered after percipitous climb.

O'karn nodded, pulling out a golden ring and flipping it to Devon.  "You scout out the castle and meet over there," he turned to gesture to the north plateau, "When the moon is high.  This ring will shield you from sight for three times.  Wear it and thank Syfier for his protection.  Now go."

Miaka woke to the smell of freshly cooked food, breakfast if her nose wasn't lying to her, and her nose never lied to her.

Soft downy pillows supported her head, while she was covered in equally comfortable blankets.  She looked around to find herself in a well decorated room.  There were open windows on the wall to her left, and a door to the right.  A fireplace was across from her, vacant of logs or other implements of a fire.

Next to the door stood a tall armoire, with full length mirror on its front.  A small dressing table was next to it.  Next to the bed, was a night stand, covered with a plate full of cooked sausages, eggs, a glass of juice, a warm bread roll, and knife and fork.

Closing her eyes and turning her head away, Miaka vowed not to eat any of the food. The smells of breakfast finally overcame her will, and she looked at her plate again, only to see most of it already gone. It had been tasty, she realized in an afterthought, decimating the rest of it absent mindedly.

Miaka got up from the bed, and took off the white cloak she was wearing over her school uniform.  Looking around, she went to check the armoire.

Figment

Catching the ring, Devon glanced down at the simple golden band, "So it's good for three uses, how long will each use last?"

Miaka crossed the floor.  Opening the armoire, she finds it empty save a single blue dress, her size.

Checking her pockets and glancing around the room, she sees no sign of her backpack or any other items.

The door opened and Miaka turned and watched as Lafiel walked into the door.

"You tricked me and stole all my food!" Miaka wailed in accusation, pointing at Lafiel.  How could you?!"

Lafiel looked at the other girl evenly.  "You asked to meet Zaphiel. So you're going to meet him."

Miaka responded, "But why did you have to stab me in the side? It really hurt a lot, you know?"

Lafiel looked afronted, and replied defensively, "I couldn't give you a chance to betray this location, or more importantly, ways to get in here"

"A blindfold comes to mind," Miaka said, sniffling. Stealing a cautious glance at Lafiel's eyes, she asked, "So... what now?"

Lafiel's distant eyes looked back at Miaka.  "A blindfold wouldn't have kept you from teleporting away, and being able to give some clues.." Lafiel mused. "And now, let's go meet my father. He should still be having breakfast." Lafiel turned to leave.

Miaka's eyes widened at the magic word, and she lost control over her body, following Lafiel.

Lafiel opened the door, and led the Miaka out of the room. She nodded to the two silver-haired soldiers who were standing outside, and turned right, without making a sound. The soldiers turned and trailed after the two woman as Lafiel led them down the hallway, around a corner, that led to a large staircase the their right. To the left was a balcony that overlooked a small pool that was fed by a gorgeous waterfall. Leading the other woman down the stairs, they took the first left and walked into a huge banquet hall. There were soldiers sitting at the various tables, but the largest one at the head of the room only held two men. Lafiel walked directly to the front table.

"Father, this is one of the people Arkanel called to assassinate you. Her name is Miaka," Lafiel said.

"Hey, that's not what I said!" Miaka yelled, interrupting Lafiel. "I told you I was here to save the world!"

Lafiel grunted and then said condescendingly, "Isn't that how Arkanel asked you to save the world? By killing my father?"

"By defeating him, rather." Miaka frowned. "Of course, I understood that it could come to killing him, if that was the only way to divert the threat on the world." Pointing a finger at Lafiel accusingly, she added, "Your world!"

Lafiel reared up to speak, but was cut-off by the deep laughter that was heard from the table. "I like your spirit girl," the man said.

"Father," Lafiel responded, exasperated. "I'm glad you're open minded. I hope the others are as well.  I'd hate to have to kill them. But kill them I will if they decide to side with my misguided friend."

The man stood while he spoke. His silk shirt hung loosely of his 6'4" frame and made Miaka feel small in comparison.

Miaka thought about recent events. She had been kidnapped, yet she was still able to achieve her goal, which was to meet Zaphiel, and ask him one important question. "So, are you evil?"
