From the goblin shaman's tent

Strange liquid

The liquid is concentrated mercury. It has been purified by magical means and infused with magic. It can be used as an optional material component to a spell to grant it a +3 bonus to caster level. Alternately, if applied to the skin of a creature, it grants them a +1 bonus to Dexterity. However, there's a 20% chance that using the mercury in this way will have unpleasant side effects. What they are, Annerose isn't 100% sure.

Athear finds a medium ranseur that looks nice.
Athear finds a small set of nunchucks.

Athear will be taking all of these.

Goblin Spear 'Glassbound'

This ranseur was enchanted to begin with. When the unknown magical item of the goblin shaman shattered, somehow a piece of glass from it flew to the ranseur and was absorbed into it, changing its enchantments.

Glassbound is a ranseur+1. Once per day as a standard action, it can emit a 30ft cone of glass shards. These shards deal 5d6 points of slashing and piercing damage (Reflex DC 15 halves).

4,500 gp.

Athear will sell these to the large valkyrie since I don't think we need anything with them.

Also, the sizing enchantment is 5000 gold, so it feels like by the time they could afford it, they'd have better. I dunno on that one, though.

Quote<Nephrite> Ko: Does the Wizard we met have any magical items for sale himself?

<Nephrite> Browsing, but I thought it might not be a bad idea to get a Belt of Healing so Inari doesn't have to worry so much. I was thinking that the ranseur is great, but since I'm not playing Moore by the time we could do anything with it we'd have found an equivalent, so it might just be better to sell.

Goblin weapons are subpar. They're mainly useful as scrap metal, so they'll offer you a flat 7 gold and 3 silver for the trio. The valkyrie does note goblin armor's better quality than their weapons and sells for more (besides the nasty leather standard goblins wear).

QuoteAthear finds a small dagger that looks fairly well made and kept.

It's not masterwork, but it's made by a noted craftsman from Krygur, Lans Pebblebrook. They'll offer you 25 gold for it.

Have T Appraise everything, Athear will Aid Annerose (since I'm guessing you can't Aid on a take 10?) for the Detect Magic.
Title: Re: Treasure and loot

T's taking 10 for a total of 20 on appraise.

QuoteInari's take 10 of 21 isn't sufficient for the bracers. Annerose+Athear come into play.

> roll 1d20+13 Annerose aid successful

A pair of bracers - Party can't identify them, but they are magic.
A potion vial - Potion of haste. 750 gold.
A potion vial - Potion of sanctuary.  50 gold.
A potion vial - Oil of darkness. 300 gold.
A potion vial - Potion of cure light wounds. 50 gold.
A potion vial - Potion of magic fang. 50 gold.
A potion vial - Potion of abishai's blood. The effects it'll have if drunk aren't clear.  ??? gold.
A few assorted coins - 4 gold, 1 silver, 3 copper.

A black robe (damaged) - Nonmagical and pretty trashed. No value except as a trophy.
A belt with lots of pouches - Spell component belt. None of the components are terribly rare or worthwhile.  10 gold.
A coin pouch with local coins - 54 gold.
A small vial of glittering white dust - Diamond dust used for restoration or similar spells. 100 gold.
A potion vial - Potion of abishai's blood. As above.

A spellbook - 0-acid splash, detect magic, flare, light, mending, prestidigitation. 1-alarm, mage armor, magic missile, sleep, ray of enfeeblement. 2- acid arrow, fog cloud, gust of wind, invisibility, shatter. 1050 gold.
A book - Sigmund's Simple Spell Selector. A guide to selecting the best spell for the situation, based on what you have on hand. A discerning guide to the beginning spellcaster or a useful refresher to an experienced wizard. 200 gold.
A book - Tiamat's Five Verses. A book of unholy prayers to Tiamat. This has value, but are you really going to do anything but destroy it?

2. Orin's Folly.
3. Gold.

50ft of rope - 1 gold.

[13:07] <Kotono> Athear would know that the abishai's blood really should be destroyed. It's the blood of the enemy's servants, full of evil power and Tiamat's wrath. Nothing good will come from it.

Athear would suggest we destroy both vials.

T takes 10 on these.

A handful of rough silver coins - These coins aren't Malanese standard, and are much bigger and purer than a typical Malanese silver piece. There's 48 of them in total and each is worth 23 silver, for a total of 1104 silver in value.
A pearl - 120 gold.
Some sea shells - Various sea shells. Pretty so they have a bit of value, but sea shells are common in Malana and thus not worth much. 5 gold.
A half-eaten bag of beef jerky - Valueless.

Bracers of Armor +1 - 1000
A potion vial - Potion of haste. 750 gold.

A handful of rough silver coins - These coins aren't Malanese standard, and are much bigger and purer than
A pearl - 120 gold.

2484 Gold here

A few assorted coins - 4 gold, 1 silver, 3 copper.

2485 gold, 1 silver, 3 copper

a typical Malanese silver piece. There's 48 of them in total and each is worth 23 silver, for a total of 1104 silver in value.

2496 Gold, 5 silver, 3 copper

Some sea shells - Various sea shells. Pretty so they have a bit of value, but sea shells are common in Malana and thus not worth much. 5 gold.

Total is 2501 Gold, 5 Silver, 3 copper

if we substract 600 (and the silver and copper because who gives a f) then we're left with

1901/4

475 gold and 25 silver for the rest of us.

Side question and OOC: You said the bracers were worth 1,000, are we dealing with the 50% sale price of things? I just need to know for the future with regards to my Ancestral item.

The house has a great deal of mundane clothing, food, furniture and other household goods. If anything like that interests you, speak up. T'll be grabbing most of the food there, it's several days of free eating. At least the fruits, nuts and vegetables. He's a little wary about the meat on general principals. He'll also take a few barrels to load into wagon to hold all that food. Waste not, want not and all that.

Wooden Unholy Symbol of Auril: Let's be honest, this is getting put to the torch, isn't it?

Kitchen

Various good iron and steel cooking equipment. T will note that they spent a surprising amount of money here for nice steel items instead of common iron ones. It's the sort of investment a noble house or fancy restaurant would make. Maybe they liked to cook? 50 gold.

Bedroom

Silk pillow: 5 gold.
Silk pillow: 5 gold.
Fancy ballgown embroidered with Auril's unholy symbol: 50 gold.
Fancy noble's clothes embroidered with Auril's unholy symbol: 70 gold.
Various high end female lingerie and unmentionables. T will note they're there and that the lady of the house had a taste for fancy things here. He would personally just rather leave it, but it's worth about 120 gold if you can pawn it all. It's not really noblewoman level, but there's some money here.
A large jar full of change, holding 219 copper and 195 silver.
A silver necklace, leaves with blue ice accents: 290 gold.
A silver ring with an engraving of a snowflake: 20 gold.
A mithral choker with decorations of water and wind: 500 gold.
A small jewelry box: 10 gold.
A set of human eyes, preserved in a jar: No value, but T openly wonders how they can be so normal and then be so callous as to have something like this. What the hell?
A potion of cure light wounds: 50 gold.
An oil of grease: 50 gold.
A locked book (magical). It's ice cold to the touch and T would rather someone analyzes it before he tries to pick it open. To be clear, it has a lock built into it.
Book, "Eternal Winter." Various religious hymns and parables to the Frostmaiden. 40 gold to a member of the clergy, but T suspects it's gonna burn instead. It can also be read for information if any of the party wishes to learn about Auril's faith.
Book, "Tributes." A book about Auril and animal sacrifice. T isn't really sure about the value since it has a ritual inside of it, and it's probably burning anyway. It can also be read for information if any of the party wishes to learn about Auril's faith.
Silver unholy symbol of Auril: 25 gold.

I'm interested in desecrating the book of Auril's teachings. The normal one, not the creepy sacrifice one that should be burnt.

Sort of like this but with less autism. (https://www.facebook.com/278661209252/videos/309603745991/)

Duly noted. What are you going to do with it after you desecrate (would desecrating an evil deity's teachings be consecrating instead? I dunno, but I digress) it, anyway? Burn it, keep it or something else?

Title: Re: Treasure and loot
Post by: Nephrite on June 26, 2015, 11:41:11 AM
Erad wouldn't mind trying to do something religious in the name of some fire dragon to help out with the burning of the stuff, but he'd probably need to do a K:R check on that.

As for the stuff, Erad would suggest they take everything but the Aurilized stuff, so probably:

A large jar full of change, holding 219 copper and 195 silver.
A silver necklace, leaves with blue ice accents: 290 gold.
A silver ring with an engraving of a snowflake: 20 gold.
A mithral choker with decorations of water and wind: 500 gold.
A small jewelry box: 10 gold.
A potion of cure light wounds: 50 gold.
An oil of grease: 50 gold.
A locked book (magical). It's ice cold to the touch and T would rather someone analyzes it before he tries to pick it open. To be clear, it has a lock built into it.

But the book might be bad news, so he'll leave it up to the other two to identify if they want and otherwise leave it.

The book is not magical itself. However, it has a nasty trap that has to be disabled at the same time as the lock is opened/picked. It looks like fire trap, but cold. So much more, terribly cold. The magic is strong - stronger than the magic you've seen here so far. Far more refined and potent.

[19:27] <Myannbot> Annerose rolled 1d20+6 dispel --> [ 1d20=20 ]{26}

Title: Re: Treasure and loot
Post by: Anastasia on June 26, 2015, 01:31:28 PM
The second attempt successfully dispels the trap. T gets right down to picking the lock. He'll take 20 since he has plenty of time and there's no danger now.

Orcustome

A copy of a heretical book said to be authored by a demon known as Orcus. It explains the profane rites to animate the dead - or so it goes, since T takes one look at the title and refuses to read further. If any of you are curious, you're welcome to read it.

Purchases from the map-seller

1 treasure map: Leads to a tomb-temple south of Arenel. The veracity of it is not known.

1 scroll of Auril's Ice Arrow.

Auril's Ice Arrow
Conjuration (Creation) [Cold]
Level: Sor/Wiz 3
Components: V, S, M, F
Casting Time: 1 standard action
Range: Long (400ft + 40ft/level)
Effect: One icicle arrow
Duration: 1 round + 1 round/three levels
Saving Throw: None
Spell Resistance: No

This spell is similar to acid arrow, but more potent and designed to deal cold damage. It deals cold damage through super-chilled water that clings to the target of the spell. It deals 3d4 points of cold damage per round. Each round the target suffers cold damage from this spell, they suffer a -2 penalty to Dexterity.

Material Component

A snowflake.

Focus

A shard of blue ice worth 20 gold.

Purchases, v2.

A map: Leads to a ruined monastery between Lemmen and Misty Harbor. Veracity is unknown.

1 spell scroll of Blind the Third Eye

Blind The Third Eye
Abjuration
Level: Sor/Wiz 2
Components: V, S, M
Casting Time: 1 standard action
Range: Touch
Target: Creature or object touched
Duration: 1 day/level
Saving Throw: None
Spell Resistance: No

This spell inhibits divination spells, such as augury, divination and scrying, against the target of the spell. Against spells that give a percentage chance of success or failure (such as divination), this spell inflicts a +25% penalty to those rolls. If the target of this spell is subject to scrying or similar means of divination that allow a saving throw, the target gains a +4 bonus to the saving throw.

This spell is ineffective against contact other plane, commune or more powerful spells (with the exception of greater scrying).

Material Component

A large jar full of change, holding 219 copper and 195 silver.

A silver ring with an engraving of a snowflake: 20 gold.
A mithral choker with decorations of water and wind: 500 gold.
A small jewelry box: 10 gold.
A potion of cure light wounds: 50 gold.
An oil of grease: 50 gold.

Laboratory equipment: A lot of it is trashed, but some survives. Approximately 500 gold of supplies remain.
Gold-lined beaker: 60 gold.
Silver knife: 30 gold.

A pearl: 100 gold.
A quartz prism, snow white: 70 gold.

Black onyx gem: 100 gold
Black onyx gem: 50 gold.
Black onyx gem: 400 gold.
Black onyx gem: 200 gold.
Black onyx gem: 50 gold.
Black onyx gem: 25 gold.
Black onyx gem: 100 gold.

Ring is a ring of floating (frostburn). 2000 gold.
Boots are boots of striding and springing: 5,500 gold.

Total is 10,105 gold, 195 silver and 219 copper, or 10106 gold, 97 silver and 19 copper. Divided by 4 since Inari is abstaining, we get 2526.5 gold each. With the silver and copper, it comes out to

2526 gold, 37 silver and 4 copper. There's an extra 2 remainder silver left over from the math, so T and Helena get 1 extra silver piece, amazing.

Diamond ring: 1,000 gold.
Silver necklace, in a rose pattern with polished moonstones: 500 gold.

She may as well carry her treasure in a pretty way. She also looked for a mug or cup made of blue ice, but no such luck.

Erad is looking for anything he can wield that will enhance his unarmed attack damage further. This can be through any means, including size increases or just damage increases in general. He'd prefer to stick with using his hands and unarmed attacks for these purposes.

He's also aware he probably doesn't have the cash to actually do anything, but getting a general idea of the cost would help too.

List of stuff to be sold!

Alchemical Silver Scythe+1
Cold Iron Scythe+1
Scroll of Orb of Acid, Lesser.
Great scimitar+1, frost. Sandstorm is the source for this.
Silver ring.

note we have 4 potions of clw and an oil of invis if anyone wants them. They're just cluttering up loot otherwise.

Helena has some shopping to do, since she's tired of her upper body being frozen.

She'll sell her blue ice breastplate+1 for 4000 gold. She'll also sell her diamond ring for 1000 gold. Together they'll pay for a mithral breastplate+1, which she immediately equips. She also has some things she liberated, which she'll get appraised and sell. The rate is 3%.

[Misc]Silver signet ring - 25 gold.
[Misc]Gold necklace - 110 gold.
[Misc]Ball of amber with an insect trapped inside - 21 gold.
[Misc]Silver pin - 15 gold.

171 gold, so she pays 5 gold, 1 silver and 3 copper for appraising. She'll just pay 6 for the sake of easy math. So 165 gold from that.

[Misc]Silver necklace, in a rose pattern with polished moonstones: 500 gold.
[Misc]A small collection of cut amber gemstones: 500 gold.

She'll sell these for 1k and use it to improve her shield's enhancement bonus (not the spikes, the actual shield's shield bonus) to +1.

Pirate ship treasures

Various mundane things, including non magical weapons: Approximately 1500 gold in value. Not counting the captured ship.
48 platinum
1493 gold
4911 silver
8205 copper
Sailor's Idol: A gold idol of Umberlee. 300 gold.
Charisma wellspring: This potion can increase a weak creature's Charisma. If drank by a creature with a Charisma score of 11 or less, they gain a permanent +1 bonus to Charisma. Creatures with a Charisma score of 12 or higher are not affected. Ability damage, ability drain and penalties to ability scores are not counted for the sake of this - only the normal, intact ability score is. No gold value.

5000 divided by 6 is 833.33gp each.

Everyone gets a total of 1,195.5gp.

Soldier battle

12 longspears - regular longspears, worth 5 gold each.
3 longbows+arrows - regular longbows, worth 75 gold each.
3 longswords - regular longswords, worth 15 gold each.
12 suits of scale mail - regular scale mail, worth 50 gold each.
3 breastplates - regular breastplates, worth 200 gold each.

A small collection of Kabath and Malana coins - 61 gold, 149 silver and 140 copper. T suggests melting down the Kabath coins and selling them for metal value, unless it's sold with this booty to the army. Using those coins in a time of war sends a bad impression, y'know.
5 saddlebags - T wants these, so he'll just keep them.
3 saddles - Military saddles. 20 gold each. T keeps one since he wants to keep the horse he's on.
A good supply of rations and looted food - T shrugs and says you use it instead of selling it. Especially with two more captives to feed.
A silver ring - 25 gold.
A green gemstone - Moss stone, a semi precious stone found in the region. 20 gold.
Some damaged silver wire - 5 gold. Looks like part of something nice that was ripped out.
An iron anklet with a blue stone embedded within - That's some luck - that's a sapphire. A flawed one, but still worth some coin. 500 gold.
A potion vial - Has one dose of oil of taggit. 50 gold.
A wood carving of a bird - 18 gold.
A wrought silver circlet - 100 gold.

Fortress battle loot first.

None of the weapons or armor are magical.

The spell scrolls are all magical. The first is a scroll of ghost touch weapon (SC), the second is a scroll of cure serious wounds and the third is a scroll of divine favor.

The blue potion is a potion of cure light wounds.

The green potion is a potion of aid.

The iron anklet is magical but you can't discern what it does.

---

Tent plunder.

A spell scroll of heal and a spell scroll of magic vestment.

Gift from the deathless

No Regrets

This longsword is filled with the hopes and prayers of a fervent servant of Tyr. While not magical, it counts as a bane weapon against undead creatures. It can strike incorporeal undead as if a ghost touch weapon and ignores any damage reduction (save for epic damage reduction) an undead creature has.

Noteworthy things you took

Greatsword+1, "Troll Slayer." Penetrates the regeneration of trolls to deal lethal damage. 5500 gold.
Scythe+1, "Gold Reaver." If this weapon slays a foe with a critical hit, the creature's body is converted to gold coins. Stronger creatures generate more coins. 10150 gold.
Deep Crystal Quarterstaff+1, flaming. "Volcano Tongue." 3000 gold.
Longspear+1, "Salvation". One per day as an immediate action (or automatically if the wielder is brought to 0 hit points or less) can release a pulse of healing energy. This heals the wielder and any creatures within 10ft 1d12+5 hit points. This can save a creature from death if used in response to taking lethal damage or automatically if the wielder is wounded. 12000 gold.

Breastplate+5, "Exposure." This armor is cursed, causing any living creature that wears it to appear naked. Once put on, the armor can't be removed. Still, its defensive benefits tempt creatures on occasion. 4000 gold.
Chain Shirt+1, reinforced with Ysgardian Heartwire. "Valor." 2500 gold.
Boiled Topaz Full Plate+1 (Homebrew, see below). "Shiny Bubbles." 12000 gold.
Mithral Tumbler's Breastplate+1, agility. (Races of Stone + MIC) "Acrobat." 5500 gold.

Wand of mirror image, 20 charges left. 1800 gold.
Wand of slow, 7 charges left. 1575 gold.
Wand of magic missile (CL 5th), 24 charges left. 1800 gold.
Wand of Nassrapk's scolding (Homebrew), 3 charges left. 270 gold.

Ring of Land and Sea: Grants a +5 competence bonus to Climb and Swim checks. 5000 gold.
Ring of Counterspells: 4000 gold.
Girdle of Masculinity/Femininity. Does exactly what it sounds like. This is either the worst or best thing possible, depending on your point of view. It's cursed and only works once, so it's a one way trip unless you find another or a powerful spellcaster. 1000 gold.
Wink Brooch (MIC): 600 gold

New Material: Boiled Topaz

This blue-white topaz is found in thick veins full of solid bubbles, named for resembling boiling water. The shape and hardness of it make it seldom used in jewelry, but it has potency when used to make armor. This requires a smith who uses magic to shape and forge the gemstone, as normal methods are generally inadequate to form it. Boiled topaz can be forged into a breastplate or any heavy armor.  Armor made of boiled topaz costs an additional 10,000 gold.

Boiled topaz is found in and around ley lines that channel the power of Fire, but that pass close to sources of water or places with ties to Water. Armor made of boiled topaz retains some of that power, granting the wearer resistance to fire 10. Armor made of such has the same resistance to fire, apply this after the armor's hardness reduces damage.

Due to being filled with natural power, druids can use armor made of boiled topaz without penalty.

Boiled topaz has the same hardness and hit points as steel.

The party loses all of the treasures taken from the cache.

The party gains the following:

5 months worth of preserved rations for the road. It's meant to feed you no matter where you are in your new mission, but you can use it as you please.
Papers: These papers identify you as servants of House Househaven. They provide you with practical immunity with most problems and obstacles, as to defy them directly picks a fight with Lord Househaven.
5,000 gold to be spent as the party sees fit. This is for supplies and preparation, as well as if you need bribes in Maggen's land. Use it as you see fit.

Am I safe to get a humanoid (human) bane enchantment? Ideally it'd be "Evil humanoid bane" but that doesn't exist so whatever!

In addition to this, does my Holy Strike class feature count if I wanted to buy Holy Surge for my weapons?
In addition to THAT, would it be reasonable to change the terms of use on Holy Surge to be Wisdom-based for someone with Serenity? It lists it as Charisma-based.

5 sp for one person per day. This is basic trail rations. Note that there is a limit to how much you can buy, as there's only so much for sale. You can buy up to 426 gold worth of rations.

Make an Int check on the books.

[19:39] <@Annerose> roll 1d20+3 int
[19:39] <Rei-chan> Annerose rolled : 1d20+3 int --> [ 1d20=5 ]{8}

What the hell, let's buy those rations. By a rough calculation, it'd double our 5 months allotment and allow us to share a lot more with the people we meet.

1. Yes, it's safe. Unless you hit yourself or something, then it would apply.
2. No, as it's a special quality and not a weapon property.
3. What book is Holy Surge in?

Quote the goodies you want identified.

In the case of #2, if I also augment my fists to be Holy, does it stack? So in effect I'd do 3d6 damage to evildoers? (1d6 from what I have and then 2d6 from the Holy enchantment?)

Holy Surge is in MIC, page 36.

1. Yes, 3d6 total.
2. Yes, but you'd need to find someone to make the varaint.
3. Coins are worth 93 gold and the decanter's worth 104 gold.

T'll suggest just using the money they're given to buy a bunch of masterwork shovels for everyone. Annerose and Helena don't need them, but that means you have a few extra in case of breakage.

So 426 for the food, 300 for the shovels, leaves us

4274 which we can just keep on hand for Do-Gooding emergencies?

Oh, + 197 from the coins and stuff, so we have

4471, unless we wanted to split the coins and decanter money within ourselves.

Rock's gift

Gem of Power

This gemstone is a focus of cold power and the converted remnants of a retriever's cold eye. When held by the following person, it grants the following ability.

Annerose or Helena: You can use polar ray in place of cone of cold SLA. The daily uses do not change, so it's one or the other.
Erad: Draconic fist deals cold instead of acid damage.
Inari: Your foxfire can deal cold damage instead of fire damage.

Umba's gift

Non magical things first.

An ornate jewelry box, decorated with gold leaves

A silver ring with purple gemstones
A gold chain necklace
A gold ring
A wooden pendant with a thin platinum coating around the circular pendant
A silver hairpin with red gemstone decorations

Magical things below here.

A tiara of blue ice

Winter's Tiara

A tiara made of blue ice carved into the shape of flames. Winter's tiara shows cold's dominance over heat, freezing it solid and hinting at its secondary power. This tiara can be worn by any creature, but those not immune to cold find it quickly induces a state of mental numbness. Thinking becomes difficult and a deep, shivering lethargy overtakes them.

Winter's tiara grants the wearer a +2 enhancement bonus to Charisma at all times. Once per day as an immediate action, the wearer may draw on the tiara's power to create a fire shield effect (warm only) for 5 rounds.

It's part of a magical item set called the Snow Queen's Regalia. It's worth 16,000 gold.

A blue gemstone teardrop necklace

Necklace of Grace

Grants a +2 insight bonus to Acrobatics checks. Once per day as an immediate action, you can increase this bonus to +5, but you're fatigued for 1 minute after. 8,000 gold.

Rock claims the following from the strange cave:

1 longsword
1 hammer
1 dagger

> This sword was once a longsword+2, holy, with an additional power related to dragons. Unfortunately, the magic has been badly damaged and it only exists as a ghost of itself. It would need to be repaired and reconsecrated.

Erad would like to (at a later time) use the sword in his meditation for his Kensai abilities. Basically, his hope is that he can effectively consume the weapon, gain Holy for his fists, and then also gain the other dragon ability.

This will have to wait until Level 9, since he can't afford the Holy slot right now since he only has +2 enhancement to work with, and +1 is taken up by his regular bonus.

This of course also depends on if Bahamut is kosher with this particular idea, which he'll pray and meditate on in the future. I just wanted to post the intent anyway.

Breeze
Evocation [Air]
Level: Drd 0, Sor/Wiz 0
Casting Time: 1 standard action
Range: Personal
Target: You
Duration: 1 hour/level

This spell causes a soft, persistent breeze to blow over you. You and everything within 10ft of you feel a cooling breeze that takes the edge of warm weather.

Breeze only works when the air around you is still and lacks any sort of wind. Stronger wind conditions than a breeze take precedence over this spell.

This spell was created to help endure summer for both the caster and those around him.

Inari claims the following:

Amulet of Natural Armor+3. 18000 gold.

She'll deface the tapestry and ditch it in the wild somewhere.

Posting since this is relevant now. He'd like to use the sword and consume it (if the value is enough) and see if he's able to gain the sword's properties per the Kensai class feature.

Post by: Anastasia on April 04, 2016, 10:17:58 PM
First of all, there's a matter of transporting all of this. The wagon has space and the horses can pull far more than they should be able to, but it's still a ton of stuff to haul back. T's take is this:

1. Use the chests (except for ones that have things that can't easily be transferred out, such as the allamay) for the coins. Platinum, gold and the odd ones first, then add as much of the silver ones as you can fit in. The copper coins can be left unless there's excess space at the end. Save one chest for all the little chest things (gems, iron/silver/gold/platinum trinkets) that are now chestless.
2. The weapons are nice, but the weapon racks aren't needed. They're space hogs that make a poor use of space. He's say just stack the weapons wherever you can fit them and save a lot of space. 10 gold per rack just isn't worth the trouble of moving them for T and the space trade off is really bad. Likewise, take the armor and leave the racks for the same reason.
3. Fragile art that's small enough to be carried should be carried on person and sold ASAP, even if it means taking less than full value. Things have a way of breaking, though admittedly Inari can mitigate that problem. The rest of the art should be taken.
4. Magic weapons/armor goes with the normal stuff.
5. Other magic items are stored in the wagon wherever, with extra care to all those potions.
6. With whatever space remains, add copper coins. If space somehow remains after that, add racks. The copper coins are a pain, but they're legal tender that's easier for T to deal with than a bunch of secondhand racks.

T isn't sure how far the space will go. It'll depend on loading all of it and setting it up. The party can carry some extra as well, which will help.

Finally, selling all of this will take time. While bits of it could be sold in villages, most of it will need to go to a big city. Allam's the closest and makes the most sense to go to, though local conditions may make it dicey. Thinking on it, T has to admit he likes the idea of taking the dragon's head after all. Give it to Knight Windor and tell him to shut the hell up or complain to Lord Househaven. Taking this much cargo and loot farther along presents logistical difficulties. Taking it further south to Luremdale could work, though it's a longer trip. T heartily recommends not taking it into the mountains.

Plus it makes you all a huge target for bandits and thieves if word gets out. Manageable, but still an annoyance you don't need right now. No, glibly saying that they're bringing you their treasure isn't going to fly, being a target going into Jacky boy's territory is unacceptable. It's just asking for something to go wrong. Also, if something does go wrong, do you want a bunch of filthy Aurilites getting your hard earned treasures?

Claims:

T: Strength wellspring. He'd also like the silver flask and shot glasses. He might keep the gold ingots or get them melted together into one larger ingot, but that's purely him condensing his wealth into easier to manage forms. He also may grab some of the holy/unholy symbols later.
Helena: Blue ice breastplate+2 is a gimme for her. She also wants the blue ice cutlass as a reserve weapon. She also notes it may be worth keeping the starmetal flail, since between that and the meteorite, the party has a decent quantity of it.  Maybe something can be done with it? Speaking of, maybe Erad could take the Charisma one?
Rock: Doesn't care, though Helena points otu feeding him some of those sources might help?

Maybe some of us can go back for the head and look for the sack, while the others load the wagon and make sure the kobolds don't return to loot?

We could probably load up the horses, too, at least with the copper coins.

Everyone should search the wagon since we leveled (I mean, killed an ancient dragon) and so it might have powered up as well.
Title: Re: Treasure and loot
Post by: Anastasia on April 05, 2016, 02:37:45 AM
Quick related note: You'll be at least a few days identifying, sorting and loading everything into the wagon.

T approves of loading the horses, so long as it doesn't slow them down any more than putting it on the wagon. Since it's magic horses he has no idea and he'll check it out.

Now that he thinks of it, T'll also search those hallways that are on the other side of the murder holes. Doing so got lost in the awe of finding the dragon's hoard but it's only prudent to check them out. He finds the following:

Lots of short bows and arrows, build for kobold-sized creatures
Oil flasks
Torches and tinder
Kobold slings
Kobold daggers
Abandoned kobold dens. There's food (T recommends not trying kobold cuisine) and all sorts of minor supplies.
18 gold, 42 silver and 194 copper.

T suggests taking the coins and leaving the rest, unless any of this looks good to any PC.

Edit: T will take a kobold dagger, purely as a memento.

Okay, then he'll spend the time while the looting is on to get this done. So he'll add Holy and see if he can also absorb whatever extra property the sword had.

Inari supports T's plan. All the bulky valuables can be stashed in the hidden rooms and we can just keep food and shit in the main body of the wagon. And it can keep there until we return to Misty Harbour or Warmfolk where it can be sold.

Erad would suggest perhaps looking into one of those bag of holding things he's heard about, or some other kind of container.

OOC, a Handy Haversack would help a great deal with some of the stuff but I don't know if it's actually needed. I guess we can see how much space we have and then go to town to buy one or two if we need it?

"Remember back at the other cave, when Inari stopped you to tell you eating the dragon might change you? Make you more like the dragon?" Annerose reminds Rock. "Well, it's the same here. It doesn't smell as good, and it doesn't taste as good, I'm sure, but it's still the same as drinking the dragon's power." She gestures at herself, where her form had acquired a more fit look just earlier. "It made me stronger, and Erad drank from the pools and it helped him as well. The smell and taste might be unpleasant for a few moments, but getting stronger and better is for the rest of your life."

Annerose points out the springs for sharpening mental disciplines, but leaves the final decision with Rock, as had taken place previously. If he doesn't want to listen to her advice, that's his choice and she won't push him.

145 platinum
1927 gold
9090 silver
11129 copper

All of the below (minus the picks and the starmetal, which I think we should keep) come to 25440 gold.

Can we get all of the silver and copper turned into gold and then perhaps as much gold turned into platinum as possible? Whatever's left over we can buy gems for if they're available.

We can sell more things afterwards but I think this gets rid of a vast portion of the actual things taking up space.

Yes, I just took out all the mundane weapons and armor.

I also updated the total on the previous page by taking the cutlass out.
Title: Re: Treasure and loot

Are we selling the stuff listed in my post? Or waiting for a larger city and better prices?
Title: Re: Treasure and loot
Post by: Nephrite on April 22, 2016, 11:44:39 AM
I had presumed that we weren't selling any of the magical stuff or art until we got to a bigger town.

I don't know how much space all the mundane stuff frees up but I'd imagine it's about half? Especially the coins.

Question for the loot, the only things we can really get better prices for elsewhere is the art, right? The magic items are all pretty much set in price?
Title: Re: Treasure and loot
Post by: Anastasia on May 19, 2016, 03:00:45 PM
Usually, yes. It's not impossible but usually takes effort is all. The base prices are usually used for ease of gameplay.

Okay, so since there's rather a rather unique situation here, this is the way I think is best to handle things:

Total will be split up between Erad, Annerose, Helena, T and Rock, with the caveat that I currently do not see any gold listed on Rock's sheet, which I presume is an error. Either way, Erad will be happy to help him manage it, if he wishes.

I will be ignoring all the claims, simply due to, again, the rather unique nature of this loot dolling out, which is happening after most claims were made but has some high-impact ones. It's just going to be easier in the long run, I think.

Coverting this to gold first, then platinum -

Title: Re: Treasure and loot
Post by: Nephrite on May 19, 2016, 11:10:07 PM
Okay, so as to avoid adding anything else to the loot post, the gold totals are as follows:

145 platinum

2947 gold
139 gold, 43 silver, 94 copper
116185 gold, 27 silver, 11 copper.
25540 Gold

Grand total of 144811 gold, 71 silver (wow) and 5 copper (wow)

If we convert it all to platinum, we get 14626 p, 1g, 71 s and 5c

I think it's easier to keep track of things in gold, though, so for the ease of that, the total is

146,261 gold, 71s and 5c. I say just get rid of the copper and silver, let's say we spent it and some other money giving to the homeless or something.

So if we divide by 5 (Tear, Annerose, Erad, Rock, Helena) that's 29252.2, let's just take all the silver and give it to charity.  So 29252 for each individual.

I would suggest someone double check my numbers but -wow- I don't feel like trying that right now.

I am done now yes.
Title: Re: Treasure and loot
Post by: Nephrite on May 20, 2016, 09:02:59 PM
I forgot to ask about this one:

Chest 10

Yellow amber: 28 gold, 3 silver, 9 copper
Fire opal: 340 gold
Pink topaz: 423 gold, 8 copper
Satin spar stone: 8 gold, 3 silver, 5 copper
Yellow zoisite: 49 gold
Green-black anyolite: 59 gold
Ruby: 580 gold
Green sphene: 94 gold, 1 silver
Lilac spinel: 739 gold
Moonstone: 492 gold
Cracked agate: 2 gold

Does T think there's any use in having the gems cut and made into jewelry and then sold back to have any profit at all in it, or should they just get rid of them?

Also, did we want to get the actual money converted to gems in some capacity? (perhaps so if we die we don't drop them and can then sell them back?? sorry, that is a bad joke from a bad game)
Title: Re: Treasure and loot
Post by: Anastasia on May 20, 2016, 10:35:25 PM
Yes, but not in the timeframe you have. Under the circumstances, it's probably best to just sell them.
Title: Re: Treasure and loot
Post by: Nephrite on May 20, 2016, 11:50:37 PM
There's really no rush to sell these, I think. It isn't like we need to get rid of them for any real reason, so we may as well just hold onto them. We've probably made back about 90% of the space in the wagon, give or take!

Palace Loot

10000 gold in the treasury (total, not all in gold coins). Largely a token amount, it appears.
A great deal of luxury items, wealth and art. Sorting and appraising all of this is the work of months, not to mention some of it is old and hails from well before Maggen's reign. A conservative estimate places the value at hundreds of thousands of gold.
A well equipped alchemical and magical laboratory. Lots here, though it's primarily been cordoned off because it looks to be Maggen's and more magic could be active.
The noble armory, sealed by magic.
The noble library, full of rare books. Appraising this would take months as well.

In short, lots of goods and little liquid treasure. Up to you what is done with it all.
Title: Re: Treasure and loot
Post by: Corwin on January 07, 2017, 08:42:27 AM
Let's get into the armory, the rest can wait.

Did we manage to find out, with the help of local authorities, if there's any mages and/or bags of holding?

Who administers the nearby realms?

What are the distances? To where Amanna's friends are delivering food, to the capital, to Househaven's realm? Can I cover them with a single teleport?
Title: Re: Treasure and loot
Post by: Anastasia on January 07, 2017, 12:58:04 PM
Armory will be done IC since it requires player input.

> roll 1d100 higher is better here
<Rei-chan> Ko-KappafromPlanetKappa rolled : 1d100 higher is better here --> [ 1d100=98 ]{98}

You're lucky. There's two bags of holding - one wizard even offers his for free, in exchange for a vow of being left alone in the regime change. Your call if you accept it. The other's for sale for 10,000 gold.

Royal Gown

This is an aquamarine evening gown that matches the gloves, joined with a gossamer cloak and snowflake pauldrons. This gown embodies the snow queen's true nature as the lord of winter and shows that its power comes at her command.

The wearer is surrounded by a constant control temperatures effect (caster level 15th). This can be lowered or raised as a free action on the wearer's turn, and the wearer can choose to exclude creatures from the effect as desired.

Strong transmutation; CL 15th; Craft Wondrous Item, control temperature; price 100,000 gp

We never actually split this loot up properly, as far as I can tell. If anyone has logs showing otherwise please let me know. Does anyone want the weapons / armor? Erad would like the belt.

If no one wants the weapons can we get a price check on them? Also, can you elaborate on what all the potions are? Is there anything useful in the "treausres, jewelry and trinkets" section or is that already listed?

Erad will probably ask someone hold onto the staff unless we just want some jingly coins for it.

Auril Loot

Staff of fell wnter: It allows the following spells: Chill touch (1 charge), frostball (2 charges) and cone of cold (piercing, 3 charges). All are CL10th.  4 charges are left.
481.73 gold in loose coins, mostly copper and silver.
55694.39 gold in various treasures, jewelry and trinkets.
1852.54 gold in books and literature.
8500 gold in potions.

Greataxe+1, frost.
Scythe+1, frost.
Dagger+1, frost.
Gauntlets of Ogre Strength+2
Belt of Magnificence+2. Curse: Only functions at night.

All the Evil Stuff was destroyed.

Title: Re: Treasure and loot
Post by: Anastasia on April 17, 2017, 06:32:22 PM
The frost weapons are SRD standard, as are the gauntlets. The belt is half of a Belt+2. The staff is worth 1,100 gold.
Title: Re: Treasure and loot
Post by: Anastasia on April 17, 2017, 06:38:15 PM
Um, lessee. Items...T will pass, he wants money. Rock wants the gauntlets for smash. Cylen's fine.
Title: Re: Treasure and loot
Post by: Nephrite on April 17, 2017, 08:37:23 PM
In that case then:

481.73 gold in loose coins, mostly copper and silver.
55694.39 gold in various treasures, jewelry and trinkets.
1852.54 gold in books and literature.
8500 gold in potions.

Greataxe+1, frost. 8000
Scythe+1, frost. 8000
Dagger+1, frost. 8000

All of this comes to 90528.66.

Annerose, Cylen, Erad... and Rock were the ones at this particular endeavor. Is it fair to split things among them or do we want to go with everyone?

If we split it 4 ways it's 22632.16
If we split it with everyone (Annerose/Erad/T/Helena/Rock/Amanna/Cylen) then that's 7: 12932.67

So I don't go and forget, Erad will pay the 25,000 gold to purify the belt.

He's going to sell his Monk's belt for 13,000 so this costs him 12,000.

Does anyone want the +2 Wis or +2 CON items he has? One is a periapt of wisdom and the other is an amulet of health.

Presuming someone takes both, he's left with: 23680 gold, 4 silver and 4 copper
