"Oh! Oh! Tryll can go check it out if you're worried about an ambush or something!"
What if they're not stars at all? What if the night sky is full of titanic far-off lidless eyes, staring in all directions across eternity?

Anastasia

"Makes sense," Sylvie says, while Moonlight nods and steps back.

Go ahead, Tryll.
<Afina> Imagine a tiny pixie boot stamping on a devil's face.
<Afina> Forever.

<Yuthirin> Afina, giant parasitic rainbow space whale.
<IronDragoon> I mean, why not?

Yuthirin

The mist around Calleigh and Moonlight's head drifts down, sinking into the ground. Tryll moves ahead of the group, using the terrain and the earth as concealment.

Tryll advances ahead. You see in the clearing are...skeletons. Skeletons bleached white by the sunlight. Skeletons of some sort of canine creature, though bigger than a normal dog or wolf would be. They aren't moving and so no signs of being the undead. Just dozens and dozens of the skeletons fill the clearing.

Tryll searches for a reason the skeletons are here!

Anastasia

A reasonable intention, but how are you doing that? Searching about physically? If so, make a Search check. Otherwise, detail what you're doing.

Tryll searches about with Detect Psionics, examining the bones, the area, and such with invisible eyeballs poking minutely out of the ground in strategic locations.

Search check.

Tryll doesn't detect any psionics or magic.

Nothing unusual here. Just lots of canine skeletons, which makes it quite unusual, actually.

Tryll heads back, relaying the information to the others. 'Bones. Canine. Whole skeletons, really. Bit of a bother, can't find why they're there. Wasn't able to find a reason.'

'I've heard of things like that. Animal graveyards, where animals go to die. Which doesn't make a lot of sense here, but..." Moonlight trails off and shrugs, "It seems harmless enough. Shall we continue on?"

Calleigh points, "Yay!" Meanwhile, Tryll assumes his position around Calleigh.

'I'll be watching.'

Activating Read Thoughts PLA, 60 foot cone in front of Tryll to help avoid ambushes. He'll be sweeping it back and forth. Renewed as it expires, it's at will.

You wander to dinnertime, a pause to eat. Sylvie fixes up a soup with a crust of cheese on top of it, fairly simple but hearty fare. It fills you up and then the party progresses onward. It's not long past that when you come to two trees, deeply intertwined. Above the branches red light spills, sunset seen above them.

"Finally," Moonlight says, "That'll take us to Brux."
