We'll start OOC for this one. Afina, since you're the only one of you who knows the Hidden Layers, I'd like you to elaborate your basic plan. How're you're taking them, any plans and prep and so forth.

We'll Gate to Mithrandir then build a sandcastle with a door so we can get to Metalandir.
On Metalandir we'll play a lively tune on a musical instrument to get to Adalir.
That will bring us to the layer Yggdrasil is on and I have no idea what to expect.

She'll warn everyone that we'll be really old on Metalandir and middle aged on Adalir. Not much can be done about it just so no one's surprised. Also that Slaad are in charge of Metalandir and not to engage in violence. We shouldn't have to encounter any since we know the key to the next layer anyway.

It is five you that exit Aurora. Afina leads the way, Moore following with Jaela. Crystal is at Queen Ilsenine's side, despite her visible sickness. Crystal in full armor and at the ready, Hope with her. A gate opens thew ay to Mithrandir, the white sand and endless blue sky above all bright. Light everywhere, overwhelming with the sun above. Wastelands and sand as far as you can see in any direction.

Fort save, Crystal, Moore and Ilsenine. Jaela's exempt and Afina is as well, though Afina feels a moment of nausea.

Moore staggers in the sands. He's able to control himself, fight off the wave of sickness. Ilsenine is not so lucky. She falls to her knees and groans, being loudly sick. Crystal reaches out to her, supporting her even as her color turns even worse. "Af...fina." she pants, holding Ilsenine's hair back with one hand and the other pressed hard against her mouth.

"Your Majesty!" Afina rushes to Ilsenine's side opposite Crystal. "What devilry... hold on, I'll assemble a sandcastle. Perhaps Adalir will offer respite." Then she uses a fabricate spell to assemble a large sandcastle, more of a fort really with a big door under its imposing gates that Jaela could get through if she stooped.

Using fabricate to make a sandcastle, taking 10 for 58 on my crafting check, assuming it falls under sculpting. 21 otherwise

Once Afina is there, Crystal falls aside and dry heaves. She clutches her stomach, curling into a ball and whimpering.

"T-thank you," Queen Ilsenine says, shakily. "This foulness came on us far too swiftly."

"The next level will be hard on all of us, but especially those sickened - we have to bear the infirmities of age as mortals do," she warns as the castle begins taking shape nearby. "I wonder what the common factor is though. Is it all fey everywhere? All pixies? Or all pixies that have been to Aurora?" Surely if it affected all fey or even all pixies across creation it would have drawn far greater notice already, but Moore being affected (even if to a lesser degree) points to it not being an exclusively Lifasan ailment.

Moore nods to Afina's words, flying down to help Crystal up once she's done.

"It's also possible that it may get worse the closer we get." Moore says. "I'd say it's probably very likely."

[Anastasia]

Ilsenine manages to rise with Afina's help, "There's no helping it. We go forward."

Crystal manages to get up and onto Hope with Moore's help. She's slumped forward on her dragon, holding him tightly. "We must as we must. The choice to allow this to continue is unthinkable."

With everyone so resolved, Afina goes to open the door of her constructed sandcastle, providing the path to Metalandir and helping Ilsenine through it in anticipation of her stumbling as she's forced into an elderly state. Not that it'll be much easier on Afina but she's been here before and knows what to expect.

Moore will cast Mass Conviction on everyone in preparation for this!
