Sending her armor away, Jaela stoops a bit and makes her way through the portal Afina had made for them.

You pass through, a sensation like flying higher and falling all at once. You all find yourselves looking up at the night sky. A starry night sky, a vast array of stars spread across the night sky like diamonds scattered across velvet. You stand in a forest of metal, all from the smallest leaf to the largest tree made of various metals.

Each of you feels weak, drained, exhausted. Age comes on you like an unwelcome cloak.

All of you are now venerable in age. This event affects outsiders and other normally ageless creatures. This has the following mechanical effects:

- -6 to Strength, Dexterity and Constitution.
- Movement speed is quartered.

These penalties can't be overcome without leaving the layer or otherwise reversing the aging effect on all of you. Go ahead and react to that, y'all. It affects you in appearance as well, so feel free to touch on that.

At least Afina ages gracefully, while her skin grows pale and waxy she avoids the brunt of wrinkles and keeps her posture upright. Somewhat stiff, but at least she's not hunched over.

"A lively instrumental tune will open the way," she says in a husky voice. "Think you can manage, Moore?"

He knew it was coming, but it's still quite a different experience than he was expecting. Even so, a little grey hair makes someone look dignified, right? That's what he tells himself anyway as he turns to Afina with a bit more slowness than he was expecting. Oh gosh, his back hurts a bit now too.

"Lively, eh?" Moore repeats, then frowns at the sound of his old voice, but shrugs at that afterwards. "Yes, yes, I think I can manage... thankfully this effect doesn't affect one's mind." He starts to strum a bit on his harp as he thinks of the best type of music to use in this sort of situation.

I can roll whenever, but wasn't sure if you wanted me to wait for everyone to post first. I presume it'd just be a Perform (String) check in this situation?

Also as a note, Moore's aura will be the CL one for overcoming SR, so everyone gets +11 to that whenever it becomes relevant.

"And I just got over this aging thing," Jaela rasps, wrinkled and hunched over at barely half of her original size. Gae Bolg, rather than serving in its usual capacity as a weapon, is now more of a walking stick to stabilize her properly as her white hair pools all around her. "Then again, I never thought I'd live that long. So that's nice!"

Crystal is withered. A mass of wrinkles with wings, slumped over on a rather decrepit looking Hope. Queen Ilsenine merely looks weathered and ancient, able to stand upright. "This too will pass," she says, "Hurry us on."

Afina feels a bit guiltily relieved that she seems to bear the infirmities of age better than anyone else, not that it's ever going to be an actual concern for any of them. Still, Hope's decrepitude answers that question about how dragons react to coming here in a somewhat disappointing but fair fashion.

[Nephrite]

Moore thinks for a few moments on an appropriate tune before he calls on a little bit of luck to improve his ability, his fingers not quite moving as fast as he's used to on his harp.

"I call this 'Eternity in an Instant,'" He says as he starts to play.

Moore plays his music. It's a lovely tune full of pathos and energy, but nothing happens.

That is, until you hear clapping from behind you, far away.

Under normal circumstances he'd turn quickly to the source, but... oh, his poor back. So he slowly... slowly... ...yep, there we go. He manages to turn himself around and peer off into the distance.

"Did we do it?" He asks.

Did she get this one wrong as well? No, she definitely remembers Hanna fumbling around with the flute a bunch before she managed to play something passable and that made a portal open up as advertised.

At the sound of clapping she turns around (slowly in deference to her hip) to see who it is and if they're keeping them from advancing.

However old and frail she looks, Jaela's reflexes would still put ordinary people to shame. She turns towards the origin of the clapping sound, leaning on Gae Bolg enough that it could be directed at a threat at a moment's notice.

Then again, it's probably just a frog.

Queen Ilsenine turns and stares, squinting. Quietly and out of the side of her mouth, "Moore, who is that?"

The figure before you is hyper real. A young and vital elf - no, eladrin. Tall, beautiful and confident, a male in the full flower of his life. He looks like a ghaele only much moreso, wearing well spun clothes.

"If you meant to play a lovely tune, then yes." He smiles, handsome and with smooth, brushed back red hair. "You got my attention with your skill, sir," he bows to Moore, "What is an artist of your caliber doing here? You hardly look like the normal Inevitables that stomp around here."
