Jaela shrugs, and then decides to try the blood. She's always wondered how it would be, and while she'd done an admirable job rejecting the offers thus far the one from her patron deity should probably be safe!

Looking down, Jaela sees it isn't blood, but two perfect, tiny red gemstones. They reflect the moonlight endlessly, and seem to glow with it within.
<Afina> Imagine a tiny pixie boot stamping on a devil's face.
<Afina> Forever.

<Yuthirin> Afina, giant parasitic rainbow space whale.
<IronDragoon> I mean, why not?

Corwin

It's not the first time she's eaten gemstones, either! And no time like the present!

"No, no, I understand that, but the connection to elves is what's puzzling me. We keep seeing them, over and over here... We're even stopped by the elven goddess of the Moon, not any fey deity." Moore says. "I think the connection runs a little bit deeper than normal people care to think about, if you ask me." He takes in a breath. "I'll just... well, let's see what else lies in front of us -- if the opportunity arises I'll just speak my mind if allowed to do so." He shrugs quietly after that. "What comes will come."

You can't understand the magic around them. Jaela does know that divine blood is extraordinarily powerful and used in certain, special rituals. For example, the efreeti emirs drink some of the Grand Sultan's blood and gain power from it when they first obtain the rank. It can bestow the god-touched template in the right circumstances or have other powerful effects. If distilled it can be made into the godsblood epic poison.

Jaela swallows one down.

Fort.

It's like her body catches fire and freezes at once. It only lasts a moment, but after she feels corrected. Purified. Like a thousand tiny errors have been corrected, her overall self far more whole.

Jaela now gets maximum hit points per hit die. This is retroactive so recalculate your hit points and tell me what they are now.

The trial is complete, and in the wake of that, the party progresses ahead.

Yggdrasil draws closer.

The Life Tree is larger with each step you take, seemingly growing and growing to dominate the horizon. You walk on, heedless of time or the effort involved. Ahead lies the greatest legend of the fey and perhaps answers to many of your questions. You feel the breeze blow across your faces, each of you feeling a refreshment joined by the rustling of tree branches in the wind. As you progress, insubstantial spirits carry wooden chalices filled to the brim with water. You drink, finding it to be clear, cold and yet bitter water, but you do not (can not?) fail to drink it.

Yggdrasil draws closer.

Yggdrasil now blocks out the moon. It dominates the sky, the stars barely glimpsed as you walk in the great tree's shadow. You see a white haze around the tree. A white haze? No. You come closer and you see that it is countless little points of light, things you have seen before - souls. Here they dance in the sky as they return to Yggdrasil, a solemn waltz that makes your hearts soar with a dozen tangled emotions that drive you to walk further.

Yggdrasil draws closer.

Yggdrasil is close and yet hidden in shadow. The trees own shadow casts it in blacks, blocking out the moonlight and starry glimmer. Ahead you see light - the light of a throne. A throne of fireflies and radiant flowers that provide an oasis of light in the shadow of life. The figure that sits on the throne resembles a pixie enlarged to human size, save for no wings. A butterfly's antennae dangle from his forehead and his body is toned and muscular. He wears brown leathers and a cloak of woven leaves, in which multicolored lights hide between the leaves.

A voice from nowhere, that of a powerful warrior proudly proclaiming, "All hail King Oberon, Lord of the Fey!"

Oberon merely watches all of you for the moment, impassive.

Ebiris

Behind and to the left of Queen Ilsenine, Afina drops to her knees and lowers her head in deference to the King of the Seelie. This last trial is to plead their case isn't it? Others are better with words than she, so she remains back for this.

Nephrite

It takes him a moment to realize his circumstances, and with a small gasp Moore takes up his appropriate place behind Illsenine and Afina and moves to kneel down and bow his head.

Even after meeting Erathaol, this doesn't get any easier...

Corwin

Jaela brings her fist to her chest, coming to one knee, her version of polite deference to a godlike being that may not belong to her pantheon, but is clearly allied and deserves to be honored.
