I'm going to the exit of the demiplane, unless Bubbles notices something shiny or has a better idea.

As you come out into the little building within the forest, Afina can hear sounds outside. Sounds she knows as surely as herself - the sound of burning wood, muffled, but still recognizable to her.

"Fire outside," Afina mentions. Which given the devastation of her windstorm and all the explosions leaving the place barren before suggests something recent as she goes outside to have a look.

Is her air elemental still around?

[Anastasia]

It is not.

The forest is ablaze, flames everywhere. The air is thick with choking smoke, and amid this you see the fire has eyes. Dozens of them, moving and leaping amid the flames.

You've heard of this. Forbidden research, the effort of mortals to break an elemental's bodily form and leave only the controlling intellect, making it able to control all of its element in a vast area.

It creates an area where every expression of that element is controlled by the elemental, usable by them to attack and defend. This even applies to spells you cast. The only way to stop it is wipe out all of that element within the area, which will kill the elemental spirit and allow it to merge back with its plane.

"I think I know what to do with this. Stay inside everyone," Afina asks before casting Call Avalanche centred on their sturdy stone shelter to bring down crushing deluge of snow all around and smother or quench the flames!
