"Done," Vul'lath says evenly.

'Yeah,' Adrian concurs, 'Need a few minutes to heal up. Had to stop a couple of spells with my chin.'

Who precisely is going to talk to Makaril?
<Afina> Imagine a tiny pixie boot stamping on a devil's face.
<Afina> Forever.

<Yuthirin> Afina, giant parasitic rainbow space whale.
<IronDragoon> I mean, why not?

Corwin

Afina and Gisfal can be there in person, and I can be there as a ghostly hologram.
<Steph> I might have made a terrible mistake

Ebiris

Afina's already at the gate, she can talk to him.

Anastasia

Sylvie will be there by need, since she's vetting them.

"Excuse me," Sylvie says to Tryll, "I need to check over Makaril's forces as they enter. Come along if you want to continue the conversation right now."

Ilsenine watches from her position, "Moore," she says, "I wish to be informed of this meeting and I do not wish to place more burdens on Afina. Go."

Meanwhile...

There are continued scuffles above, but by and large, the narzugons are flinging some spells and supernatural powers without charging down. As Aurora rises up to meet them and takes some shots, they begin to vanish away, retreating with magic.

Nephrite

Moore gives Ilsenine a salute and heads off to meet Makaril!

Anastasia

Moore and Sylvie arrive - in time for Jaela to appear via projection and Sylvie to look over the few soldiers with Makaril. Tattered but intact soldiers, Makaril himself bloodied - but not his own blood, or from healed wounds. Kalembar is at the ready, stained with the blood of devils and traitors to Lifasa.

"Friends," Makaril greets quietly, "Time is short, but I wished to greet you directly," he begins, "As well as gift you with something."
<Afina> Imagine a tiny pixie boot stamping on a devil's face.
<Afina> Forever.

<Yuthirin> Afina, giant parasitic rainbow space whale.

Nephrite

Moore glances at Sylvie but then nods to Makaril.

"Are you certain it's something you can spare us?" Moore asks.

Corwin

"Your presence and the success of your strike is gift enough," Jaela tells him with a smile. "We're off to an auspicious start."
<Steph> I might have made a terrible mistake

Ebiris

"Welcome to Aurora, Makaril," Afina says, flying up at head level with the much taller angel. Unfortunately she doesn't have a reciprocal gift! By fey standards this is a ruinous breach of propriety, she needs to think of something fast!

Anastasia

Makaril takes out a red scale, "One of Harkin's scales," he says, "We do not have the mages to properly exploit this, but it will aid scrying and perhaps other things. Take it and use it as you will, for Lifasa."
<Afina> Imagine a tiny pixie boot stamping on a devil's face.
<Afina> Forever.

<Yuthirin> Afina, giant parasitic rainbow space whale.
<IronDragoon> I mean, why not?

Corwin

Well then. "This changes thing," Jaela muses out loud. "I'll ask Balyss to take a look."
<Steph> I might have made a terrible mistake

Ebiris

Oh that's not a gift that's a joint military asset. Afina's inner worries subside as she rationalises it away. "Hopefully we can find some use from it," she says, accepting the fiendish cast-off.

Nephrite

"I can take it to her. I know you're all busy." Moore offers.

A pause as the air rumbles. Above a great shot of green and black fire comes - only for Baleruk to roar. Rainbow light erupts out as spells are woven and the fire is stopped, dissipating. "FOOLS! I DO NOT ALLOW YOU TO USE SUCH POWER, I FORBID IT! CRUSH THE INFIDELS AGAINST ME! FORWARD!"

Makaril looks up to the sky, "Fool you may be," Makaril murmurs, "But may the Lady of the Weave guide you this day." The Maiden of the Gate is watching with the key in her hand, standing with the Mother of Magic.

'We're close! Someone's put together what's left of the Burning Aeropolis,' Crystal sends to everyone. 'It won't survive a second time.'

Meanwhile Canderella sends, 'We have the perimeter held and devil forces within the fortress are being pressed. My, what a lovely start to the day.'
<Afina> Imagine a tiny pixie boot stamping on a devil's face.
<Afina> Forever.

<Yuthirin> Afina, giant parasitic rainbow space whale.
<IronDragoon> I mean, why not?

Ebiris

"Thank you Moore, I need to watch the gates for infiltrators," Afina says, handing it off to him and glancing skywards with a somewhat satisfied look. Crystal does good work, Baleruk too.
