'No, fortify yourselves at the Throne, you'll be slaughtered running blind through that back to Aurora,' Afina refuses Moore's suggestion for everyone to try and make their way back to Aurora through the darkness. 'I've located the origin point of the spell and will attempt to dispel it.'

"Teleport over and kill it," she orders her vrocks. "I'm going out to try and dispel the darkness, it's our only chance. Hold the line here," she tells Dana and Sylvie, turning invisible before she flies out and dimension doors herself towards Vul'lath's suggested origin point.

You now fly in absolute darkness. It is bitterly cold here, empty. Phantasmal whispers echo around you, promising things you cannot quite hear. Above you hear combat, discordant noises and shrieks of pain from your vrocks.

Round 1: Full round action to run the rest of the way, that's about 500 feet of movement so I should then reach the putative origin point of the spell.

20ft away and 35ft up is the edge of mass - like a tumor in shape and size, far larger, body parts dangling out of it. A grotesque thing, and behind the mass is the swirling energy of a portal or something similar.

Afina flies towards that portal and attempts a summoning spell beside it while time is frozen.

It takes two tries, costing her precious time. But as her time stop ends she commands the blinded angels to act immediately! They can't see in the darkness but she's positioned them so they don't need to. "Reach forward and dispel evil!" she commands.

One is positioned facing the portal itself, one is directly in front of the portal and the last directly behind - Afina doesn't know which direction anyone traversing the portal would come out on but thankfully she summoned enough to cover all angles.

Okay, the Devas are all using their Dispel Evil SLA. One on the portal, which assuming it's aimed at Hell or similar counts as an evil spell and thus would be valid. The other two are at either potential exit point of the portal which would presumably be the origin point of the spell on this plane, and Utterdark is an evil spell so that would nix that.

300 damage on the failed save, the devas are nuked. However...

There is a terrible sound as holy power meets infernal might. It is like wind and rain tearing apart, sky and ground mating. It echos throughout the battlefield as the infernal red light of the broken sky returns, the portal fizzling out. Without the darkness, the spirits below begin to wither and fade away, nary a sound as they become naught more than a memory.
