Alicia wonders briefly who's been closing the doors behind all these vermin after setting them up in various rooms.

It made Marie's barrage less effective though, that can't be denied. They'll need to come up with a solution so she can better attack structures with it.

Still though, why are the vermin fleeing? Is there magic guiding them, or some sort of hivemind?

Alicia uses alter reality for some sort of souped up detect thoughts solely to discern the intelligence score of the vermin immediately rather than waiting 2 rounds.

Marie has greater arcane sight to see if any spells are on them.

There are no active spells on the vermin.

"There's some form of gestalt intelligence at hand. Slay them," Alicia says to her companions, assuming that killing more of the vermin will weaken the hive mind or central brain or whatever. Her own gesture sends a wall of scything force blades all the way down the corridor to the end, churning up the vermin within.

We can roll init if necessary but with supreme init Alicia can get her first shot off unopposed.

Ebony bows her head as holy energy slams into the sacs, but it is not enough. Some are vaporized by more are beyond it. "So be it," Ebony murmurs. Her hood is up as she bows her head in supplication, fingers tracing a circle in the air that glows with golden light. Rays of it emanate out all over, to which Ebony grasps it and intones, "The dawn in here!" before she hurls it, becoming a javelin of pure sunlight.

A tremendous flash of sunshine blows the morning breeze across the room, the scent of vermin washed away. When the light clears, the sacs are bleached away and empty, only fragments of them left and the way ahead is clear.

Nodding in satisfaction, Alicia dismisses her blade barrier and leads the way along to then open the door to the north halfway down the hall.

[Anastasia]

This room narrows near the top, altogether a small room with a door north, east and west. The room itself is full of supplies - bows, arrows, crossbow bolts and the like. Thousands of them surely, all neatly stacked up in barrels. Above them on the walls are bows and crossbows. The floor has colored stone making an image - of the armored warrior, leading archers in a charge against wild beasts, his own gestures bringing lightning down on them. Yet shadows loom around the warrior, creeping into him, overwhelming him.

The images of the bowmen slowly becomes one of horror, their lines breaking before your eyes as they flee, the image coming alive before your eyes. They flee as if the stone was real, the image rippling from the change.

Discordant words of darkness fill the room. The Dark Speech, its words anathema to your ears. "Hide, scurry away, hide like the vermin you are. Join us." The shadows writhe as insects come out from behind the barrels, skittering up the walls, to the ceiling. They rise up from the floor, a flickering image of a humanoid, gray and empty. It hisses, "The holy light!" it wails, throwing up its arms to shield its face from you.

Any knowledge to identify what/who this is? And if it's really here or just a magical projection? (Alicia has arcane sight up and Marie has the greater version)
