A large and ornate room is here. It's dominated by a four poster bed, the floor carpeted and finery about. Books are scattered everywhere - on a table, on the writing desk, about the bed, against the southern wall up to the ceiling. Tomes of all types and kinds.

Lying on the bed is a dog-headed creature that you're familiar with. An arcanaloth, a head like a coyote and wearing muted green and black robes. It is fat, grossly so, surely weighing more than Hanna in full armor. A book is in hand, a page midway being turned when it looks up. In a smooth voice it remarks, "Excuse me, that door was locked for a reason. I've not yet finished my reading."

The bed it lies on holds his weight firmly, surely a testament to the quality of it.

"How d-" Is all the 'loth gets out, before you're there. Each strike slams him down hard, magic detonating around him. The bed breaks beneath him as you pound him down, his body bouncing up and down a few times on the soft bed before going still. His book flies and falls to the ground, joining the others there.

A spell from Marie wraps the yugoloth up in a giant clenched fist of force which lifts it up off the bed to float behind the smiling eladrin. "Let me see what he was reading anyway?" she asks, walking over to pick up the dropped book.

"Disgusting, lazy thing," Ebony sighs, "So fascinated in its own works that it stayed oblivious until calamity came."

"It's just a text on abjuration. Our specialty," Marie smiles at Alicia and goes to place the book on the table, before she casts unseen servant and orders it to tidy up all the scattered books. They should remain in range long enough for it to finish while exploring this part of the cathedral anyway.

She's not here to claim any treasure for herself, so that gets left well alone and Alicia leads them back to that hallway with the voice from before and opens the first eastwards door after turning the corner on it.

It was once a library, perhaps. Now it is a tomb for vermin, bugs and empty shelves. Not a single book is left here.

The floor is engraved with a motto in Celestial that reads, 'From knowledge, magic.' It is surrounded by twin hawks soaring. Old seats are ruined, light coming from the shelves, illuminating all the library in a steady, even glow.

"They really liked books, didn't they?" Marie asks, glancing at the arcanaloth wrapped up in her fist of force.

"Curious that they cleaned this out but left a cache of magic items elsewhere," Alicia agrees, re-consecrating the library before stepping out and opening the next door up to the North.

Glancing at the 'loth, "Likely his choice," she remarks, "He strikes me as a glutton for knowledge. Or perhaps he already appraised all the magical items here."
