Magic bursts out as the scorpion is a dozen, a hundred - and is now visible. A single one, dazeda nd reeling, battered by the missiles.

"Temporal substitution can stun you coming out of it," Chrona 42 calls, "It's vulnerable."

"Good," Syala smiles, stepping right past you, hammer in hand.

"At least it has a downside," Alicia says as the corpse falls away. "Well struck by the way," she adds to Syala.

"So are there any weaknesses to that spell?" Marie asks. "Any spells or types of damage that'll stick or do you just have to dispel it or outlast it?"

[Anastasia]

"Certain chronomatic spells can overcome it through harm," Chrona 42 says, "Such as Temporal Scramble and Time Lurch."

Syala flashes you a smile, "They've been so kind to set us up a training course, we should appreciate it."

[Ebiris]

Alicia takes note of those spells, deciding she'll attempt something like that on the next one. For now she continues her descent of the stairs, following the shattered invertebrate corpse.

[Anastasia]

You step down the stairs - and feel it flare along you, try to. A temporal reset, to revert you back in your body moments ago, to make you repeat what happened.

"Such magic cannot impact a deity, because they are immune to it," Chrona 42 says, "But others could be trapped in a time loop like that for a long time."

[Ebiris]

"A rather sad form of immortality," Alicia pronounces, continuing on undaunted.

[Anastasia]

"Horrifying is what it is," Syala rues, "Such power and such power to use it to extremes. Chronomancy is hardly tame magic."

At the bottom of the stairs is a painted door, decorated with images of the sky. Writing is on the base that reads, "Sky Door."

Behind the stairway is a gaping hole, leading to something of a chasm.
