Behind but not stopped, Moore and the others manage to surge forward, even Moore able to recover and flitter amid them. However, Moore being knocked back gives the blasts more room to work with, trying to catch him as...

Moore manages to pass them, jets flying by, ending as the party passes. Ahead you can see Cresiel and everyone advancing, keeping pace with you for controlling winds. Now the lava is forming a tall wall, jets stopping as it spreads out, a barrier of shimmering yellow-orange-red lava.

[Nephrite]

Moore mutters under his breath as he looks to the others. "Ideas? We could try a Disintegration, but then it would likely just reform. Should we try and freeze it and then smash through it?" He offers to the others.

[Anastasia]

"I like your idea," Xandra says, "We don't have time to come up with a better plan."

"Agreed, forward," Kaja says, "Freeze it."

Cresiel stops a moment, waiting, "Hurry."

[Nephrite]

"I'd do it if I hadn't already messed with the winds." Moore says. "Xandra, try something like Cone of Cold!"

Xandra steps forward to catch as much of the lava wall as she can with her magic!

Yet all of you are fast enough, getting through the gap and on. Here a field of lava erupts alla round - great pillars and lines of it, tunnels and grooves. Great passages forming and collapsing around you, a maze being born anew every few seconds.

'You're good,' A whisper-soft voice murmurs in Moore's mind. 'Good enough to still be alive.'

[Nephrite]

'Then you know we won't give up until we rescue who we're here to rescue.' Moore says in his mind. Whether it reaches whoever this is, it'll simply have to be seen.

I admit I'm having a bit of difficulty mentally visualizing this.

Do you mean there's lava that's erupting out all over and it's what's briefly creating tunnels and things? Is there any way above this or is it all over?

Imagine lots of tunnels, walls, tubes and shapes appearing in the air. Imagine it like geometry in midair, constantly changing itself.
