Well, well, well.

Anastasia

You're fortunate - nothing else happens the rest of the day. Yawning and tired, you go to rest after your watch is done.

Sitting in your room is Erathaol, reading a book and patiently waiting. He looks up as you enter, "Moore," he greets you.

Moore jumps with a start.

He offers a bow as he shuts his door. "Lord Erathaol. I apologize if you've been waiting long." He says.

Anastasia

"I was waiting just the right time," he says, gesturing to a nearby seat.

Moore moves over to take a seat!

Well, he's still awake, so he isn't in trouble... right?

Anastasia

Once you're seated, the book is put down and Erathaol turns to you.

"I knew not precisely how Eblis obtained his power, but I understood the theory behind it," he speaks softly, "I wish to ask if that is the path you desire to walk, to seek to become One, to seek what lies beyond."

There's a pause for a moment as Moore looks off, outside to his window.

"I met Antenora Reynes for the first time not too long ago." He says, his attention still outside. "We found out that she had done the seemingly impossible and ascended outside of Creation's views." He says.

"It was... surprising, to say the least. I'd never even thought about it for myself. Me? A deity?" A sharp laugh. "Could you even imagine, I thought." A breath in and out.

"I learned a great many things within Io's Labyrinth, as I am sure you know." He says, his attention now turning back to Erathaol. "I was... almost disappointed to hear that I was the one being considered for it. It made it feel like my accomplishments weren't my own, but merely... people helping me out, to give me what someone else wanted."

He's silent for a moment, as his gaze turns down to the floor.

"The mistakes I made, the successes..." He says, quietly, before he takes in a breath and looks up again.

"They're my own. Whether I was helped along or not, they were my choices, my decisions. Whatever my life has become, it's because of my own actions and no one else's." A smile slowly creeps onto his face. "I think... ultimately, that's why I do. I do want to become One, because I want to realize, with my own ability, what I can truly do.  There is a book we were all gifted by Lord Io, that will apparently help us. It is currently with Lady Seira, as I believe she has one who she would like to walk that path. I was going to read it myself, when they were done."

Anastasia

Erathaol listens as you speak, not interrupting. He listens until the end, "The ways of Zaphkiel are mysterious, even to one such as I. I have seen deeply into the light of Chronias, farther than any other and pondered it for eternity, pondered what I have seen there."

He pauses as well, looking out the window to the light. "His purpose rests with you, to what ends I do not know, but it is the path the mountain calls you to. You have chosen wisely, Moore."

"It's... hard to imagine Lord Zaphkiel." Moore admits. "I mean, we're sitting here, talking... we've even enjoyed drinks together. I can't picture doing that with him. Or... if I do, I imagine it more like my sitting at a table with a nebulous white mist on the other side."

A pause as he clears his throat, looking a shade of embarrassed for even bringing it up.

"I don't know how much of what I know you know as well." Moore continues, with a bit of a lopsided smile. "I always assumed you just saw everything I did, but I don't know that I lead an interesting enough life. There are a few facts I would like you to know, bits and pieces that I think may be relevant. Ah... well, unless you do already know, in which case I won't bore you."

Anastasia

A consideration here, "I know there are things I must not know, know that I must not know for a long time. Speak not of them, for I am guided by the highest power." Erathaol says, and then, "I have encountered the form of Zaphkiel. A golden angel taller than I, who with a mere word can enact miracles beyond even my power. He is glorious and he is terrifying, for he is not the same as us."

Moore nods. "I will defer to your and His wisdom, then." A smile after that. "That certainly gives my imagination something more tangible to work with."

Here he pauses again. "I continue to study the Words of Creation with Xandra. If there's anything else you can offer wisdom on, I would be thankful."

Anastasia

"That you stride ahead with confidence and wisdom," Erathaol says, "And that you remember who you are and what you are. That will be of the utmost importance in the trials ahead of you."

Moore nods. "If there's one thing I can't forget anymore, it's how to be me."

Anastasia

"Then go forward with confidence," Erathaol says, gone a moment later, leaving you to your rest.
