There's a lot of things - an astral storm, but not on that scale.

More likely something unholy, dark or shadowy. Something big, whatever it is. Something ominous and not good at all. You can't -prove- it quite yet, but the odds sure don't look good.

Seira's avatar decides to try and counter it with divine application of holy power, if only to see the level of threat she is facing here.

How precisely do you aim to do that?

Since the information I got is extremely vague, being precise is difficult. I presume it's Shar, but I have no idea how she would do something dark and shadowy and unholy to a whole section of Astral. If it's possible for me to figure it out, I would like to do the opposite with light/goldenfirefire/good. I assumed it was an application of divine power resulting in rank checks.

Thus Seira extends her divine will and she feels it -  a thousand little points, each a tiny cluster. You can see them now - so many portals are opening on the Astral at once, opening to allow passage to it. You smell it, the smell of dead olive trees and dying earth. The smell of fire, the smell of Hades.

"Kascha, please ask Vlaakith politely whether a myriad of portals from Hades are opening up into Astral in her neighborhood as well," Seira voices, before considering what the best ways to close a portal might be.

Plenty of stuff like antimagic or dimensional lock should pause portals for the duration, iirc, but what would actually kill them?

[Anastasia]

A dimensional anchor would suppress a single portal, a lock all the portals in range. Antimagic would suppress them unless it'a deific work.

"She says no," Kascha reports quickly.

[Corwin]

"Huh. Sanzha, please gather a team able to use magics to lock down dimensional travel and have them ready to assist me. Kascha, I'm going to use that neat little spell Jaela came up with to deal with devil incursions. Find out whether we have someone capable of doing the same to back me up."

Extending her mind farther, she tells Honeydip, I believe an invasion from Hades is imminent. I plan on allowing the first wave in before blocking the majority of their portals. Please be ready to strike at those who appear once that happens.

Then, after casting Sensual Blessing upon herself, Seira in avatar form dashes out into Astral while firing off Dimensional Locks at the clusters of hastily-formed portals!

As for the clusters I'm targetting, how far does this effect spread? A mile, two miles, infinity?

Looking out it spreads for about 12 miles.

In that case, I'm going to head out into Astral to position myself at at a spot roughly distant 1750ft from the cluster of portals nearest the Cauldron, zapping clusters with Dimensional Lock all the while. I'll zap 3 of them a round, and travel at the speed granted by Int 40 (+15).

Everything all tallied, what's that put your movement speed at?

I don't remember how Astral speed works except that it's based off Int.

Just tossing this out and giving you a chance to reply at leisure, since I know you crashed right after work today, and in case this speed changes the calculus at all.
