Dust and blood

[Anastasia]

A dao - big and broad. A bit fat and a bit muscled, somewhere in between for that. He sits in a deep pool of water, up to his chest in it, as he soaks in the water and the steam that rises up from it. His eyes are closed, a wild, bushy beard dominating his face. He looks utterly relaxed, even as a beautiful, scantily clad maid feeds him what looks to be crystalline grapes.

Alyssa focuses on anything that might lead to a connection to her target. Any sort of records or the like.

[Anastasia]

It's what looks to be a hot spring. It's not exactly a place to see records, and indeed you see nothing around except a dao being fed grapes and enjoying the rich life.

Alyssa settles in for a long watch, but does take notes on anything he says that might turn out to be interesting.

A few minutes pass uneventfully.

From out of view you hear a voice, "Sir," A woman's voice, gentle and demure, "Today's dinner will be ready in a half hour. Also, an honored emissary has come from the Red Rats and has a message for your ears only."

The figure merely nods, as if no great thing. "Put him in a comfortable room and feed him, I will see to it after dinner. Treat him as a welcome guest."

"Sir," Is the answer.

Alyssa takes interest and continues to watch, but tries to bring up what she remembers of a group called Red Rats.

Do you have lore or anything similar to that?

Just Knowledges, though I can cast Legend Lore.

[Anastasia]

You recall a small point of lore - they're a minor spy group in the dao. They're mostly facilitators of knowledge and sell it to the highest bidder. They focus on Earth, but deal with most of the elemental planes and a few sprinklings of the outer plans.

Alyssa continues to pay attention and take notes.

[Anastasia]

A few more minutes pass before, "Sir," The voice again, "Three slav-"

"Servants," The dao corrects lazily. "Do remember they get paid in these absurd political times."

"Servants," The woman corrects. "Three servants have been executed for theft. They were found stealing gold and finery, sir."

"Unfortunate," Is his answer, unconcerned. "Why has this reached my ears?"

"One of them had an unusual tattoo, sir," Is the answer, "Of a green bird in flight."

That gets his attention, "Have the body brought to Parsimon." he orders immediately, "Top priority."

Alyssa checks her notes and memory for anything related to the tattoo.
