Alyssa sets the Pyredust out in a small pile and pulls out the box.

"Here we go, get some altitude and be ready to escape in case something insane happens!"

With that, she opens the box and puts the flame into the dust!

[Anastasia]

You said a small pile, but you have 10 pounds of it. Are you using all of it?

[Iron Dragoon]

Yes. All of it. LET THE FIRES RAGE. For reference, consider a bag of top soil is 30-50 pounds, so yeah, 10 pounds seems like a small pile to me.

[Anastasia]

I thought so, but this is a case where I felt I needed to be perfectly clear. How far back are you going to be from it?

[Iron Dragoon]

I would assume Alyssa would have some sort of idea of what the AoE on it would be, so she'd teleport to safety. If she has no idea, I guess.... 100 feet or so?

[Anastasia]

This much and a magical flame. She'd guess 2000ft would be the bare minimum safety based on her K:A, possibly more.

[Iron Dragoon]

Daaamn. Gonna be a show. Then yeah, let's go with 2500ft. And mention it to the others.

[Anastasia]

Everyone steps well away as you drop the fire and it happens. A massive burst of raw heat that explodes out in all directions. White fire spreads everywhere, intensely hot and with the occasional blue flicker. A moment later you lose sight of the ice below as a great cloud of steam arises, all from the ice that melts below you.

Emily whistles long and low, "So much fire," she says, almost dreamy, "It reminds me of Mom's magic practice."

Bastian grunts, "As long as we aren't in it. I hate burns."

[Iron Dragoon]

Alyssa uses Alter Reality to conjure up a wind to clear some of the steam out, "Yes, well, I imagine if this works there will be some people who have choice words for us for effectively setting Acheron on fire eternally with holy fire, considering the alignment of this place. Honestly, I was expecting someone to try and stop us, but if no one has, I guess it isn't that bad."

[Anastasia]

"Or it's going to come shortly," Jarem notes, eyes roaming. You clear away steam. A great depression burns away in the ice, deep and instantly filled again with the steam as it keeps on burning.

[Iron Dragoon]

"I mean... We can always just go back and monitor it remotely, I suppose."

[Anastasia]

"That may not be the worst idea," Dolmaya admits, "It's still burning?"

"Ever burning fire," Emily says slowly, "It does that."

[Iron Dragoon]

Another burst of wind to check, "Yes, seems so. I'm not entirely sure how long this will take. My only concern is if something is revealed, someone else might pounce on it before we get back. But then, it's a simple spell to come back."

[Anastasia]

It's still burning, still burning away.

"Safer to leave, but more risk of being preempted," Jarem concludes, "What's your risk tolerance?"

[Iron Dragoon]

"It's mainly... Boring. We could set up spells for stealth and rotate shifts to have two people on hand at any time?"
