"To a point, but not everything. I'll give you a basic amount of supplies that will get to you to where you're going. You're going to have to plan out what you need to begin establishing yourself. Make a list, and we'll discuss it at that point.

The less I have to give you beyond that, the more favorably I'll look on the expedition. This is a delicate balancing act, Lasri. It's deep waters. You can find investors, be they merchants, miners, other settlers that want to get in on various things such as land, farming, or trade rights. But be warned, every bit of coin you take for such things means you're selling a bit of control. You know I prize freedom exceedingly highly, but when it comes to establishing something like this, there's value in being able to be the final decision maker.

You'll have to consider location carefully: mineral deposits, location, ability to feed itself, defenses, and many other things. And don't think yourself limited to just our people. There followers of the others are here, too. I think there might some value in military logistics. Or a certain Goddess of Law and Liberation might have a suitable Guard Captain or two floating around. Another might have some excellent scouts.

You'll have to decide if you want to launch a military expedition first, to scout and secure the land, or if you want to take laborers and settlers with you to build an outpost from the get go. And with each comes its own separate requirements. A military expedition comes with discipline and rules baked-in. Bringing civilians means establishing a rule of law. A system for it, and then getting people to buy into it and follow it.

Travelers, settlers, and skilled laborers abound here, Lasri. There's a few newly established settlements in the realm, in the mountains, that you can visit and try to pull advice from. This is a large project. One of lifetimes, as you said, and I don't expect you to set out next week. Even if your decedents finish it, if you are wise and educated and prepared, you will be the one who lays the cornerstone.

Legends are built from such things, Lasri. Bloodlines have been founded on less."

"A great task," Lasri agrees, "It's so very much to do and think about. Then...with all of that, by your leave may I go and begin to plan?"

"No. First... I want you to take a rest. This task will exceed your limits. Best to be rested for the journey.

And Lasri, don't try to shoulder it all yourself. A single laborer can't build a city."

Anastasia

"I will," Lasri promises and obeys, the great task laid ahead. With that done, now what?

I really need to come up with ideas for the others, but Croneasco is with those refugees on that plane that was the titan's skeleton, so let's count that as his mission to help build a settlement. Let's check in on him.

You glance in. Croneasco works away with them, in what looks to be a cavern converted into a living space for many. It's been cleaned up and organized, tents pitched and areas sectioned off. It's clean enough, with water kept unpolluted and filth to a minimum.

Alyssa inspects the area, judging their supplies, security, and what they're lacking.

They're good on water and fire wood, a bit iffy on food and further construction supplies on a glance. Security's decent.

Easy enough. They come forth and...

Go ahead, you clearly have an idea in mind.

"Dolmaya, you've had Alihana under your wing for some time now. Do you think she's ready for a solo project? Administrative and logistical?"
