Figment

Setting his goblet down, Devon gave Arkanel a piercing look.

"Do you have blueprints or a floorplan detailing Camelot's layout?"

kpjam

"Unfortunately, no," Arkanel responded to Devon despondently.

Leaning forward in his chair slightly, Devon continued grilling his host.

"Do you know any legends or old stories associated with Camelot?"

kpjam

"Nothing more substantial than the legends that it was the center of magic study.  The home of the strongest and most noble of wizards.  They gave up their power so that we might live in peace and prosperity.  My hope is that they protected or destroyed the most fearful of their creations."  He sounded worried as he continued speaking.

"It is now reveared as a holy place," he added sadly.

"You say that it is a holy place. Surely there must be some individual or group of individuals who saw to the daily upkeep of this holy place," Devon asked intently.

kpjam

Arkanel answered Devon, "The holy land was unspoiled until Zaphile inhabited it.  He has deliveries made from town every other day, but I know of no one who knows the place well that lives outside.

"What I do know is this: Their is a drainage system that is used for the moat, and I think the fortress itself.  One of the kids saw it working and told me about it.  It is surrounded by mountains on three sides, and two walls on the fourth."

Frowning in thought, Devon continued, "Can you describe this drainage system?"

kpjam

"A hole in the ground that led to an underground tunnel that had water in it.  It was found a mere 1/2 mile from Camelot, with flowing water in it.  I did not investigate much further, but it was pointing in the direction of the citadel there was another pipe found draining into the river bank, west of here that feeds the lake," Arkanel responded again.

Nodding thoughtfully, Devon pondered, "I would prefer to get a look at the area myself, how far is it to Camelot?"

kpjam

"Camelot is not far, maybe 4 miles from here," Arkenal responded.

Clara chose that moment to walk in.  She carried a large tray that was propped up on her shoulder.  Steam could be seen rising from the cooked pig that was visible.  The weight of the food seemed to strain the poor girl as she walked up to O'karn.

She carefully lowered it onto the table in front of the man, removing a carving knife and large fork(that was used for carving), and placing them down next to the roast pig.

"I couldn't find any larger utensils.  I hope these will do?" she asked.

"Do you know where Camelot gets it's water?" Devon asked as he glanced at the large platter.

kpjam

"Camelot's water comes from a waterfall located behind it.  I saw it when I visited to try and talk Zaphiel into returning to the ways of peace," Arkanel answered Devon.

Dracos

O'Karn grinned toothily, quite pleased, "Aye, that will do nicely, human."

Grabbing the cutelery, he dug into the big pig, slicing a hefty chunk off and eating it with abandon.

Fearless Leader
Well, Goodbye.

Figment

"How many people live in this valley and the surrounding areas?" Devon asked, having noted the sparseness of the population.

kpjam

Clara smiled nervously, and turned to the others.  "Yours will be in momentarily."

She walked away and then stopped.  Turning back to O'karn, she said, "Ah... Mr... monster sir.  I wasn't sure if one was enough, so I made another if you want it.  Just let my master know."  She turned and exited the room.
