Kylen stares, open-mouthed, abashed at missing out on a chance to bitch and moan.

"Is she always like that?" he wonders aloud.

Gourry gives the vampire a wordless shrug that conveys the full depth of all the emotion he has experienced since becoming Lina's bodyguard. Then he heads on over to the bandit to find out what their next wacky adventure will entail.

Zelgadis interjects, "I'm interested. I'll go get Amelia. This way, you can prove your story. And you shouldn't be concerned about Amelia's safety. Rather your own, if you're lying to us." Zelgadis heads outside to get Amelia.

...And almost runs into her returning from the tasks she ran out to do.

"Mr Zelgadis, are you looking for something?"

"Yes, I was looking for you." Zelgadis says. Directing her to the table where Kylen, Lina, and Gourry were at, he says discreetly, "This man says he's a relative of yours, and has the royal crest."

"Family? Here?" Amelia takes a closer look.

[Carthrat]

"Ahh... yes, that's right," pipes up Kylen. "Havn't see you in a while, Amelia-chan."

Amelia blinks.

"Eh?"

She takes a closer look at the man. Closer, closer, until she pulls back in surprises! She points a shooked finger at the black clad man.

"You! Y-you're... you're... Um, who aho are you again?"

[Carthrat]

Kylen rubs the back of his head. "Er, Kylen. Elder cousin. Invited you to a ball when I was 13, 'cos my secluded life kept me away from.. eligible young women."

Amelia goes into the classic Thinker pose.

"Kylen, Kylen. Oh, I remember now! Cousin!" Amelia leaps toward Kylen with stars in her eyes...

... Before pulling a cross on him.

[Carthrat]

Kylen recoils from the cross only a few inches from his face, stuttering out something incomprehensible that sounds like a combination of frustration and pleading.

"It's so good to see you! How have you been? You don't call or write. I mean really, when where you planning to visit again?" Amelia says pleasently, keeping Kylen at bay with the cross.

[Carthrat]

"Couldn't-be-better," groans out Kylen. "Y'know, wandering the country, dodging angry mobs, lugging around a box the size of a horse around, great fun."

"Still haven't found a cure yet, huh?" Amelia states the obvious, tieing the cross around her neck. She holds out a hand to help him up.

[Carthrat]

Kylen accepts the hand. "No. It's hard to gain access to libraries. None seem to want to take on anyone with an overbite," he replies, dusting himself off.
