"I am getting my ass kicked," says Jam. "I need a squad of engineers here, now. If there are *any* problems, *I* will take responsibility. Tell them they need to dismantle a machine, which is protected by some kind of energy field. I don't have any specifics.

If you could be so kind, have the general contact me as soon as he's.. avaliable."

[Corwin]

"We can't spare a squad of engineers, but perhaps the main engineer and a pair of assistants would do, Ma'am?" ensign Gray asks. "And would you like them to come towards your current location?"

[Carthrat]

"Yes," replies Jam. "Make sure they're armed. No telling what they might run into around here.

Better yet, send a pair of guards with them."

[Corwin]

"Understood, Ma'am. Any other orders?"

[Carthrat]

"Don't trust anything Serenity says," says Jam, whispering so nobody but the Ensign can hear her. "I think she's a loon."

Raising her voice, she says, "That will be all, ensign."

[Corwin]

"Err, right, Ma'am."

The connection terminates, leaving the four to wait for the fearsome Earth engineers and their escort.

Unless someone has better plans than just wait for their shuttle to arrive, post. Otherwise, I'll timeskip in 24 hours.

"Can we afford to wait on a squad of engineers?" Rei asks, "I mean, surely it can't be too hard just to blow the device up?"

Admittedly, anything that delays her having to get killed or worse at the hands of those freaks is a pretty good thing in her mind, but she does have a duty to deal with them...

Jam shrugs. "I don't know what it's for. It could be an elaborate bomb, and I'd rather not blow up half the Lunar surface."

[Halbarad]

"Hard to say... I might be able to disable it if you can get me to it, but I have no way of knowing until I actually get to look at it." Ami says thoughtfully. "It's up to you, though."

[Carthrat]

"I can't go with you, at any rate," notes Jam. "And I can't stay here by myself; some of those freaks might come across the shuttle. I have little desire to be raped.

I suggest we stick together for the time being; but since I don't know what that device is for, it may be prudent to check it out.."

[kpjam]

Minako watches with apparent interest, before stating, "I don't really think any of us are in any condition to fight.  But we need more information, so I think we should scout, to see what we're up against, but avoid fighting if we can."

Looking at the multitude of bruises which her abbreviated sailor suit does little to hide, Rei nods in assent to Minako and Jam. "I don't particularly relish fighting any more of those little bastards, but we would stand a far better chance if we stayed together.

"Scouting the area while trying to avoid another battle is a good idea, the only problem I can see is that we're a lot more conspicuous than those midgets - they'd probably see us before we saw them..." she bites on her bottom lip thoughtfully, "Except... Ami-chan's visor thing seems to be able to detect them. That'll give us an edge."

[Halbarad]

Ami sighs. "If nothing else my visor may help us avoid any others. But the question is this: If we aren't leaving here to investigate this machine, what purpose does going out at all serve? As you said, none of us are really in any condition to fight at this point."

She looks around at her companions. "Without some clear objective - whether going to investigate this machine or something else - I simply don't see much point in us risking ourselves any further while we try to scout the area."

[Carthrat]

Jam nods. "Then we'll wait here.

Or we could fly away.."

[Ebiris]

Rei sighs. "That might be all well and good for you, Miss Jam, but we are under orders direct from Queen Serenity to deal with this situation."

Admittedly, the Martian Princess had volunteered, and had done so hoping that the Queen would refuse the generous offer considering the beating Rei had already suffered, but still... duty is duty.
