Ami discovers that an exceptional amount of heat was released during the explosion, the majority of it directed inwards from three focal points near the center of the crater.
<Steph> I might have made a terrible mistake

Halbarad

Ami moves over towards Rei. "Something odd in the scan results, sempai... the heat distribution patterns from the explosion appear to be very unusual."

The Senshi of Ice displays the scan results on the computer's monitor and holds it up for Rei's inspection, explaining the readout as she does so. "Notice the three focal sources for the heat? I'm no expert on demolitions, but it looks like there were three of SOMETHING aiming at whatever was in the center of the blast."
I am a terrible person.
Excellent Youkai.

Ebiris

Rei hopes that Ami can't see how her eyes have glazed over.

"Yes... most unusual, that. But was the explosion caused by the three things by themselves, or did the thing at the center act as a catalyst?" she eventually says, congratulating herself on sounding like she knows what she's talking about when she feels so completely lost.

Halbarad

"I find it rather unlikely that there would be three separate heat sources all directed at the center of the blast AFTER the explosion, so I'm assuming they had something to do with causing it. That said, I have no idea exactly what these heat sources are - they could be explosives or any number of other things." Ami explains patiently.
I am a terrible person.
Excellent Youkai.

Ebiris

"Well if it was directed they couldn't be explosives, right? Explosions go out in all directions, don't they?" Rei pantomines such a blast with her hands, "I guess they could have been weapons of some sort... or maybe magic. But who was it that weilded them?"

Halbarad

"As I said, I'm no expert on demolitions, but I have heard of what are called shaped charges which DO direct the blast in a specific direction. I'm not saying that's what this was, just that we can't rule out the possibility."

Ami thinks for a moment. "We could probably check the crater ourselves, if you like. I haven't turned up any harmful aftereffects of whatever caused the explosion, so it should be safe enough."
I am a terrible person.
Excellent Youkai.

Ebiris

"It's a big hole in the ground," Rei shrugs. "I doubt going in there would let us discover anything more, considering you've already scanned it with your incredibly sophisticated and advanced computer visor thing. I don't really see what else we can do here."

Halbarad

Ami shrugs. "Nothing beats direct observation, but in this case I think you're right - we aren't going to see anything that my visor hasn't already picked up."

The diminutive senshi slumps a bit. "The question is, with that in mind where do we go from here?"
I am a terrible person.
Excellent Youkai.

Ebiris

"I'd say we're done, here. And I'd also say that the Queen had the right idea in getting herself off the planet - the people aren't going to pleased with how a tiny group of perverts brought the Moon Kingdom to its knees. I bet revolutionary agitators are stirring up the masses into a frenzy right now..." Rei says ominously.

Halbarad

Ami muses out loud. "It certainly is surprising how much difficulty they presented to the Lunar forces, and not very reassuring." The blue-haired prodigy thinks for a few moments. "I'm no expert on politics, but I doubt anyone's had time to consider anything quite THAT drastic. I would, however, expect the Queen to be facing some... difficult questions in the near future."
I am a terrible person.
Excellent Youkai.

Ebiris

Rei sighs, her shoulders slumping. "Yeah, people on the Moon seem to flakey to get a real revolution going anyway..." she shakes her head, looking over at Jam, before adding in a quieter tone for Ami, "But I bet the Earthlings are really impressed with how the great Silver Millenium handled an outbreak of ten or so midget perverts in the capital..."

Halbarad

The young girl smiles wryly, matching Rei's quiet tone. "Frankly, I'm of much the same opinion right now myself. This WAS my first visit to Luna, and I'm not particularly impressed with what I've seen."

Ami sighs quietly. "I miss Mercury."
I am a terrible person.
Excellent Youkai.

Ebiris

"Yeah..." Rei nods glumly. "I sure expected things to be different..." she sighs. "Come on, let's go see if Minako and Jam have come up with anything. If not I think we might as well leave."

That said she goes over to the Earthling officer and Venusian Princess. "So, think there's any reason for us to stick around here?" she asks the pair.

kpjam

"I was just wondering that myself," Minako replies.  "Head back tot he shuttle?"
he secret of tomb has been revealed, do nothing!

Ebiris

"Might as well," Rei nods. "Then we can fly to... wherever..." she shakes her head, feeling tired and sore all over. "I'm sick of walking."
