“A joke, it was a joke,” Azurite says hurriedly, placing a hand comfortingly (he hopes) on her shoulder. “Of course I’d love your help with this. You’re the best thing that’s happened to me since I got to Tokyo. Both times, even.”

Anastasia

Eudial stiffens slightly as your hand, but hears you out.

I don't know....miserable sense of humor....

"...yeah? I guess so..." she says quietly, not turning around yet.

Though...he is cute...

Taking a breath and turning back to you, bearing a small, tightly composed smile, "I'll go check out the living room, then," she says, leaving the kitchen rather quickly after that.

Well, crud.

Azurite lets her go, taking his time in putting away the groceries (I have food!) and ponder what to do next. Afterward, he heads into the living room, himself.

Anastasia

After putting away grocieries and coming out, you find that Eudial isn't in the room now. Perhaps she went to the bathroom, as she did leave her coat on the couch.

Azurite decides to stay in the front room, as he both feels a bit guilty over ruining the mood and also doesn’t want to seem pushy by inquiring into the bathroom.

Anastasia

A minute or two passes, until Eudial returns. She looks calmer now, though still just a touch out of sorts.  Coming and sitting relatively close to you, "I didn't know you kept a library back there," she says by way of opening.

“The atelier, you mean?” Azurite posits, as it’s the only room that fits that description. “I thought all mages kept written records of their study. I can show it to you, if you’d like,” he says, rising from his seat and extending a hand toward her.

Anastasia

"Yeah," she replies, falling in step with you as you lead on back.  Though, at the moment, she doesn't quite take the hand.

Letting his hand drop, Azurite proceeds toward the room in question. It isn’t exactly a huge room, though larger in dimensions than it probably should have been given the size of the apartment. A single window stares balefully out at the storm in progress, dark curtains pushed aside to let a little light in. Shelves and dressers line the walls; bric-a-brac and odd angled doohickeys of various sizes and shapes form a natural growth from the more permanent fixtures. The spell of old spices, old books, and things so ancient they reek of time waft out of the open portal and down the hallway. Not an unpleasant smell. It is the mage’s smell, a highly valued perfume for those who had acquired a taste for it.

The books themselves are of a varied nature, tomes of long dead practitioners sitting next to the latest research in the biological mechanics of the cantrip. None are dusty, as Azurite doesn’t care for dust, but they maintain an aged dignity of which any librarian would approve. A largish worktable dominates the central area, though at the moment it is covered in half unpacked boxes rather than any expensive glassware or arcane experiments. The floor, what can be made out of it that isn’t covered by rug, is engraved with glyphs and ruin of an unspecified nature, though the pattern seems to keep the table area at its epicenter.

All in all not the greatest atelier in existence, but a fair bit better than one would expect in an apartment in Tokyo.

Anastasia

Eudial takes the entire expanse in reasonably enough; surprise kept to a minimum on the reason that she was just here a few minutes ago. Sniffling her nose slightly and repressing a sneeze, she surveys the entire room again.

"So, yeah....you do your magic in here," she asks, trying to move it past simply looking and get to some sort of discussion.

"Pretty much, yeah," Azurite agrees, wondering at the sniff. "If the smell is bothering you we can go back to the front room," he offers.

Anastasia

"No, it's fine," she replies shortly thereafter, getting a good look around. "You use the same sort of magic as your sister," Eudial muses, as she examines one of the main bookshelves - the one full of general use books Kaolinite left behind.

"It's strange...for me and most of my friends, magic is simply natural. You have to study it like this?" On saying so, she idly inspects one of the books, taking it and reading the spinecover - Nergal's Fire Evocation. "Though...This one doesn't look too bad," she says, grinning.

“I’m no adept,” he shrugs. “And anyone who can use magic is born that way, its just some people have to call it forth while others it seems to find on its own. I happen to be in the first group. But then again, I know a wide range of abilities so it evens out in the end.”

Anastasia

With a nod to that, and curiously cracking open the book she holds to read on, "Hmmm..."

Explains something about her, I guess...

Though...

Put his sister away, girl. He's a cute guy who's actually interested...stop comparing him to that bitch...

Unseen to Azurite, Eudial frowns a bit. But before it goes anywhere, she banishes it away. "Do you just read in here, or do you do all sorts of magical experiments?"

“I haven’t actually done much in here just yet, but back home I’ve done all sorts of magic. Locating lost items, divination, instant cleaning, vermin repellant, x-ray goggles; I’ve seen all sorts of things.” He moves to one of the distant shelves, opening a small, ornate ivory box and deposits the daimon egg remains in it.
