Hi,
    I am a newb when it comes to rpg forums, i tried one once, and i hope that my writing skills have imporved since then. I like regular D&D as well as some of the computerized versions, specifically the baulders gate series. I want to try a modern campaign eventually, so my character can own an M195 and several other high caliber weapons.

Greetings to all, and thank you for the excellent site.  In regards to the last post, this site was in fact linked to The RPG Duelling League, although I should perhaps not steal Dune and Hal's thunder on that one.  However, that happened only in the last twelve hours or so, so I doubt it is responsible for an influx ten days back.
ANYWAYS.

I am Sir Alex, an utter and complete gamer geek.  I came here following the directions of Dunefar and Halbarad, who have spoken on occasion of high quality roleplaying to be had, in the hopes that this would be the place for such (and from what I have read so far, it seems not at all disappointing!)    

Regarding myself, I am weird, too serious for my own good, strange, completely and utterly devoid of tact, odd, crazy, deeply Christian, somewhat gothic in the classical sense of the word, and occasionally given to paranoid delusions.  Just to warn you.  

I mentioned that I came here in search of good roleplaying.  I hope to find, well, good roleplaying, and more importantly good roleplayers, of the intelligent type one can befriend and have fun with (as opposed to the rather vapid "OMG I have 12d6 damage, and like, my character would SO not do that" type I have found elsewhere). At the moment I am so happy to find a place such as this that I can barely breathe.  Or perhaps that's just the lack of sleep kicking in.

Most of my RPG experience lies in the dreaded D&D 3rd Edition, and most of that over AIM chats, although I have also tried to run and play in games using the AD&D, Fallout and Nightmare systems, freeform, White Wolf LARPs, message board RP, and some homebrewed things with varying degrees of experience and success.  I realize that some of the above are probably banned words here, but what can ya do.  I am more inclined towards the GM side than the player side, although that has in large part been due to a lack of other competant and serious GMs and games in my acquaintance (yes, I do trust in Dune's skill, but Sailor Moon is not quite my thing).  At the moment I am involved in only one game, that being the one I am DMing (pardon my interchanging of D and G there as well).  Said game is set in a world called Amaryllis, uses a version of D&D houseruled into near oblivion and... well, here is the website for the game, those interested would do better to read the documents there than hear me babble on.

I, too, have come from the Role Playing Game Duelling League to this corner of the net, for better or for worse.  

I'm Zenthor, or Zenny, and aside from being a Tales and Nippon Ichi fanboy I used to roleplay and write alot, but since the group I roleplayed with broke up a couple years ago, I haven't done much of that sort.  I tried to start up a couple on the aforementioned RPGDL forums, but both flopped.  But, when  Dune (I'm assuming Anastasia here, yes?) and Halbarad linked here, I figured I might as well give roleplaying another shot.  Especially since they had mentioned that the group here was about on par with the group at the DL.  (Well, hopefully you're a bit more intelligent than some of the members there.  >.>)

Most of... no, all of my roleplaying experience has been in Free form chat RPs and message board RPs.  I'm pretty much an idiot when it comes to anything D&D, sadly.

So, yeah, that's about it.  I'll probably be scoping out the games going on here before joining anything.  

By the way, that Evil Commentary Bureau? Brilliant stuff there.

Welcome and well met!  A good bit of taste there!

Always a pain and one of the many reasons I keep trying to build this site.  So many folks out there who'd 'like to game' but don't have a group.

Good to hear.  Well, feel free to toss in your hat for any of the games currently holding applications (gestures over at his own with a hint) or try your hand at GM'ing.  Drop by the chatroom as well.  We're always glad to see newcomers along there and it's a good way to keep tabs on the games 'soon to be' that stir about before getting posted.  There's also the testing grounds for new games.
