I have a dream that one day, men will be punched in the face not for the color of their skin, but for the awful content of their character.

Attributes:
Appearance (4/4) - Extremely Attractive. (+1 to Art of Distraction)
Makoto's gotten older, and while she's not creepily beautiful like Usagi and Rei, she's grown up quite a bit! With a figure that could (And does!) Stop traffic, and a rather earnestly cute look, Makoto could easy pass for a 'girl next door' style pinup girl

Art of Distraction (1/1) - Freebie from above. Makoto's burgeoning looks are an asset that can be exploited to divert attention, if she so chooses.

Damn Healthy (2/2) - Makoto's body is her greatest asset. Not only does it look hot, it functions nearly flawlessly, and is deceptively strong and healthy, thanks to good nutrition and regular, intense exercise, and as a result of these, a nearly insane metabolism.

Energy bonus (3/3) During the Gaia Saga, Makoto's ability to Channel magic was boosted dramatically, and she commands considerable power.

Fortified Body (1/1) +1 to Body Stat. Makoto's studied Martial Arts nearly since she could walk. Healthy? PLEASE. Makoto GLOWS.

Enhanced Soul(1/1) +1 to soul stat. Practice makes perfect. Makoto's not as gifted as the other senshi here, but she's learning and growing stronger magically, too.

Focused Combat (Offense) (1/1) - Makoto talents in combat lean toward lashing out and inflicting damage. When She's attacking, she's confident and skilled. (+1 to ACV at all times, purchased with 'Significant Other' defect)

Agility (3/3) - +3 to any body checks invovling running or sprinting, and +1 to DCV (Provided there is room to move around)Makoto's training has side effects. Like speed. She's fast. VERY FAST. In fact, She's nearly double the speed of normal people when running flat out.

Combat Mastery (2/1) Makoto's Guardian is a friend of her father's, and a Dojo master of Kempo. He allows Makoto a great deal of freedom, but training under him was a condition of that, and Makoto has a high level of innate talent. (In martial arts. =P)

Massive Damage (1/1) Makoto has, through study of martial arts, learned exactly how to direct her blows to inflict far more damage than a girl her size should. (+5 damage to any combat blow inflicted.)

Fast reflexes (1/1) - Moderately good reaction speed. Wins any ties in the initiative order automatically over someone without Fast Reflexes. Will generally have some skill in video games or sililar mediums that require this skill.

Damage Reduction, (1/1) - With the outright poundings she's taking from Nior in training, Makoto has gained a degree of defensive ability, enhanced by Serenity. -5 to all damage taken, to a  minimum half of it's base damage. (This really only matters for attacks that deal ten or less damage. Anything over can't be halved by merely 5 points off.)

Danger Sense (1/1) - In the final series of Power boosts, Makoto gained an peculiar, innate talent. In times of danger, stress or battle, a precognitive 'Sixth Sense' kicks in, warning of imminent danger, or attack.
(Level one: +1 to DCV at any given time)

Defects:
Phobia (1BP, and 0BP) Heights, Flying
Physically Unappealing (1BP) - Too Tall.
Recurring Nightmares(0BP) - Plane Crash, Abandonment
Significant other (Sailor Senshi, Hotaru in Particular) (1 BP)

Footnote/Explanations-
Stats:
Body - World class ability - Makoto is a young girl, true. But a naturally healthy and strong body and physical gifts, coupled with the expert instructions in martial arts from a sensei naturally gifted in his own right has left Makoto not only left her fit and healthy but stupendously so. Makoto has a level of physical prowess that men much older than her are hard pressed to match.

Mind - Above Human Average (Adult) - Ami's careful tutelage has raised Makoto's overall mental ability, and her grades are in good shape now, though they still require assistance to keep fresh.

Soul - Extremely Capable - Makoto, while not the most studious of girls, has a focused and dedicated spirit, in no small part due to martial arts study, and a nurturing, caring spirit.
+++
Defects:

Phobia- Makoto was orphaned at a young age by a plane crash. This has left her with a mild fear of heights. However, the footage of the crash was also shown on the news, and left the young girl with a deep rooted terror of traveling by plane...

Physically Unappealing - Makoto is hot, plain and simple. Still though, her height curtails some of the benefits she would normally accrue as an young, pretty girl. In a land where girls tend to be rather short and cute as a rule, her height tends to make her unappealing or intimidating to boys she might like to attract. This is somewhat damaging to her self esteem.

Recurring Nightmares - Makoto is not as emotionally damaged by the death of her parents as she once was, but the wounds are still there. The shock of the loss still seems fresh at times, Makoto dreaming about the swiftness with which her world was robbed of it's foundations...

#######

Description:

Makoto is a rather tall girl with long chestnut brown hair kept habitually tied back in a ponytail, and deep green eyes. However, due to her...rapid development, Makoto is rather routinely mistaken for a much older girl. Her face, at least, retains some of the more youthful features of her age group, and she tends toward relaxed and cheerful expressions on the whole, but when upset, she can look quite stormy.

Timeline update - At thirteen, Makoto looked closer to sixteen, and she, along with everyone else, assumed she'd hit her growth early.

This proved not to be the case.

Rather than early, Makoto simply had more growing to do than a normal girl. To her dismay, Her classmates and friends have yet to catch up to her height, and she's grown almost four inches taller, and has increased considerably in her 'three measurements', as well, gaining a figure that's beginning to cause her trouble as the more innocent jealousy of middleschool girls gives way to the more vindictive jealousy of girls who want what Makoto has in the bust and hips.

Continued, intense exercise has only added to her looks, keeping her long, coltish legs fit, and her waist slim...I bet you thought 'Body that can stop traffic' was only an expression.

Fortunately, Makoto's face is a saving grace. She's not a ravishing beauty, like Rei and Hotaru are shaping up to be, but her innate, cheerful cuteness has only intensified. Makoto's the girl you WISH you lived next door to.

Clothing, as you might imagine, has become difficult. Due to her figure continuing to blossom, Tomboyish clothing is favored, though even 'loose' clothing means something different than to most girls.
Fortunately, Fuuko is absolutely delighted by Makoto's growth, and occaisionally presents her with stylish, neatly tailored clothes. Her 'Adult-look' wardrobe, for when she wants to make a good impression.

The down side of Fuuko's influence is that Makoto occaisionally hits some rather sour notes in her attire, but thankfully, she learns from her mistakes.

At one time she had a tendency to overcompensate for her percieved 'boyishness', but as she stands now...Well, looking curvy in a heavy martial arts gi will do a lot for a young girl's percieved femininity.

Sailor Jupiter- Appearance

Jupiter's uniform no longer matches her original. While her leotard, skirt, boots, and bows all remain unchanged, her gloves have changed. Pure white still, they're now textured-a bumpy, scaly looking mail like dragon skin now covers her fists. Her tiara, formerly a simple gold band, has shifted, and is now a wreath of golden leaves, a circlet reaching aroung to support the newly glittering emerald in her tiara. The Green and pink motif of her uniform remains, but the white ribbing around her waist and shoulders has turned a dark, forest green, and is shot through with silvery  threads to represent the lightning and thunder sleeping within her.
Her new look, along with her sword, serves only to enhance the Valkryie and Warrior madien look, and status within the group...
-------------------------------------
[Family history]

Makoto is the only child of Kyosato and Shinobu Kino. Her father, Kyo, was an archeologist at the beginning of his career when he met and fell in love with a young graduate student from Toudai. Marrying young, they aquired an apartment in Azabu Juuban, and formed a cheaply run home from there. For several years, Kyo and and Shinobu worked as a globe trotting archeologist and  his assistant. However, on their fourth wedding aniversary, amidst champagne and a romantic dinner, Shinobu informed him that she would be quitting as his assistant. Amused at the momentary panic this caused, Shinobu embraced her husband, and informed him that she would be busy with a new job.

Full-time mother.

This, of course, was cause for celebration, and six scant months after that, Kyo and Shinobu welcomed their daughter, Makoto, into the world. For four years after that, Shinobu raised their daughter to be a bright and happy child. Active and playful, Shinobu took great pride in her daughter, but...found herself growing restless. Finally admitting as much to her husband, they made arrangements for her to resume her work as his assistant, on a more part time basis, while an older woman of their aquaintance, Haruna Ichiro, watched their daughter.

The arrangement didn't last long. The very first time the Kino's left, the jet carrying them to Brazil crashed on the shores of South America. All aboard were lost, and some fairly gruesome footage was relayed back to Japan.

Makoto discovered thereafter that she had been remanded to the custody of her godfather, and old friend of her fathers, and would live with him at his dojo, from then on. (Detailed in Background Piece). For six years, Makoto was the ward of the master of a dojo and his lady friend, and grew tall and healthy, eventually recovering, for the most part, from her parent's deaths. Then, on her tenth birthday, Makoto asked for, and recieved permission to reclaim the home she'd grown up in, the small apartment in Juuban. Carefully monitored by her surrogate family, Makoto lives alone, determined make a life for herself...
-------------------------------------
Makoto's 'Social Circle'-

Kino Kyosato - Father [Deceased]
Kino Shinobu - Mother[Deceased]

Masataka Takayanagi- [Makoto's legal guardian, and her martial arts sensei]

Masataka was a close friend of Makoto's father, and when Makoto's parents died, he discovered he was now the legal guardian of a very young girl. A kind man, but somewhat gruff, and completely inept when it came to children and girls, he did his best to care for her, and teach her confidence and self defense. Fortunately, a female friend of his, and former girlfriend, Fuuko Nakajima, took a shine to the little girl, and came to help out with what the earnest, but bumbling 'father' couldn't manage.

When she was about ten years old, Makoto approached her guardian about going back home to the apartment she'd spent all of her time with her parents in. As it had lain vacant for a few years, Masataka, as Makoto's guardian, was slowly being pressured to sell it, and Makoto desperately wanted to keep her final link with her deceased parents. Knowing his own inadequacies as a surrogate parent, and reluctantly accepting Makoto's rather independent streak, Masataka and Fuuko reluctantly made the arrangements for Makoto to live on her own, in the apartment, on the condition that the regular training at the dojo was increased to make sure she could take care of herself. They both still stop by regularly to check on her, though, and consider themselves an 'Aunt and Uncle' of sorts, feelings Makoto seems to reciprocate.
Note *Masataka is a master of his Kempo style*

Fuuko Nakajima-
Fuuko, unlike the rather straightlaced Masataka, is...or rather was, something of a wild child in her youth. Wise enough to avoid the issues of running with a gang, she was still rather rebellious and hot tempered, and managed to get herself into quite a few tight spots. With the coming of her adult years, Fuuko has mellowed out a bit, but even as a grown woman, retains a somewhat devilish streak. However, the sudden appearance of a young girl in the life of an ex-boyfriend brought about a more dramatic change than age. Fuuko found herself fascinated by how utterly inept her quiet, responsible ex was in dealing with a child. More out of curiousity and amusement at finding something that Masataka couldn't handle than anything else, she becan coming around to help out.

Makoto was an introverted, sad child at this point, and Fuuko felt the first stirrings of her maternal side. She began spending more recreational time with Makoto, and slowly, the little girl came out of her shell.  Though tied together only in the loosest sense, the three formed a makeshift family.

However, Fuuko, despite the softening of her personilty, is still quite tempermantal and a free spirit.Makoto's independence and tomboyishness most likely comes from her influence.

Haruna Ichiro -
A regular babysitter when Makoto was young. In her late sixties now, Haruna is an almost eerily aware older woman, and the epitome of the ideal 'Grandma'. Lively and active, she's also gentle, and wise, in her own way, and good at taming energetic children. Makoto's domestic skills were likely learned from her.
(Update:) 'Gramma' Haruna's transitioned into her seventies, and her health is trending downward. Makoto is usually notified if she's taken ill, right after Haruna's biological children, and is a frequent visitor when she's ill, and even sometimes when she's not.

Yohko Yamoto -
A cheery young lady, in her mid twenties, who runs a bakery near the Takayanagi Dojo. She lets Makoto work part time for her on occaision, helping her suppliment her monthly living allowance. Yohko is what Makoto aspires to be as she gets older. Young, smart and doing what she likes to for a living. However, Makoto is slightly dismayed at Yohko's tendency to go though boyfriends like kleenex, most likely due to her own struggles to find someone willing to look past her height.

On first glance, Makoto and Yohko almost look like sisters, which secretly pleases both. Only on closer examination do the differences in parentage become apparent.

As time went by, Yohko's shop did AMAZING business...in no small part due to Yohko's ability, and but not to mention Makoto and Hotaru working for her. It's been two years now, and All three are something of local legends, and the small bakery's turned such a profit that Hotaru and Makoto now had stable part time jobs, and the young propeitor bought the storefront next door, and expanded!

Yohko's Bakery had become Yohko's sweet shop! And naturally, with the move to a more service oriented store came changes. In addition to baking, Makoto now also waits tables, taking orders from customers. (In a shrewd marketing move, Yohko brought out a new uniform for the 'waitresses'. Popular with the girls for the sweets, and the boys for the uniforms, 'Yohko's Sweet Shop' Looks to be headed to bigger and better things. In addition to her other duties, Makoto has filled in as Assistant Manager on occaision.

Satsuki Kazami-
'Sacchin' is a cute little girl who, unlike Makoto, is fairly small for her age, but just like Makoto, has a tomboyish streak a mile wide. She goes to Juuban with Makoto, and belongs to the same Kendo club. Unlike Most of the other students in the club, Makoto's height and curves seem to inspire no adverse reaction, other than admiration. Satsuki is often in the company of her boyfriend, Shiki, but she makes regular attempts at drawing Makoto out of her enforced isolation at school, and Makoto has done things with Sacchin on occaision, earning the little girl a fond place in her heart as her first real 'Non-senshi' friend.

She's a deceptively sharp girl, and has noticed a few things, and might be closer than one would think in identifying the winged angel that saves and protects people in Juuban...

Kids: Makoto has a really soft spot for younger kids, as they tend to overlook her height. (Everyone's tall to them) So Makoto is on quite good terms with more than a few elementary students.

Boyfriends
Mako-chan has managed to overcome her miserable luck with the opposite sex to snare a boyfriend or two in the two years since the return from Gaia. A brief summary of each follows.
1) Sousuke Kuonji - Son of an Okonomiyaki shop vendor, and military otaku. Sousuke doesn't talk much, but when he does, every word means something. A man very much in the same mould as Nior and Masataka, with even a dash of Hotaru Tomoe, Sousuke is a gifted fighter, though rather than martial arts, he uses a disturbingly effective cobbled together style mixing the basics of martial arts, street fighting, and concealed weapons. Based on using the most effective amount of force necessary, Sousuke is unafraid to pull a weapon on an attacker, which occaisionally caused Makoto some consternation, as he owned an actual gun, which was customarily loaded with rubber bullets, and never answered inquiries as to how he had obtained and managed to keep it in Japan.
He and Makoto met in the middle of a fight with thugs from their middle school, after he intervened in her fight-something so unheard of for the tall, tomboyish girl, that rather than being offended, she was rather smitten that someone would stand up for her. He, on the other hand, was similarly surprised at Makoto's reaction, which was completely counter to all the rumors of her being a brazen slut that he accepted her rather timid and awkward overtures of making him lunch, and began walking her home from school every day.
Young love blossomed, and quickly turned rather serious. Makoto and Sousuke were openly affectionate at school, and even more in private, though Makoto has been close-lipped to most about exactly how much went on between them.
Unfortunately, what had seemed so promising was forcefully cut off as Sousuke's family packed up and moved, after a long romance of nearly eight months. Happily, despite the grief of him moving away, Makoto and Sousuke parted on good terms, with the young Military Otaku doing a good deal to mend the broken heart Makoto's old sempai left her with...

Tsukasa Kuga - Tsukasa was a different animal altogether, thoughrather dear to Makoto as well. A tall, slim boy, he seemed confident, though rather quiet and withdrawn, and he piqued the interest of Makoto's maternal instincts. Curiousity was unleashed, and Makoto took the opportunity to talk to him as he 'waited for someone' outside the girls' home ec class (Bad sign number one!) and made fast friends with the rather self-depreciatingly funny boy. This romance bloomed more slowly, culminating in Makoto being asked out after a few more conversations, though in retrospect, finding him shopping near the women's boutiques should have made her wonder more strongly than it had at the time. Still, he had a wealth of softspoken charm, though Makoto DID note that he was as easy to get along with as her girlfriends, though that was a compliment at the time.
After several dates, and two months, Tsukasa came over to help Makoto with a cake for her Home Ec class' party. About two hours in, He excused himself to go to the washroom-and seemingly disappeared. Makoto went looking after nearly twenty minutes...and found Tsukasa with his shirt off, and wearing one of her nighties from the bathroom hamper.
This did not go over well.
After an initial burst of frightened and offended temper from Makoto, and nearly servile apologies from the boy, they sat down and talked. Reluctantly, both agreed that their 'relationship' could go no further, as a large breach of privacy had been involved. But they did manage to repair their friendship, and Makoto keeps his secret, and has only discussed the incident with Hotaru herself, and occaisionally seen in the company of a 'girl' taller than herself, giving her advice, and tentative friendship...

Senshi Notes:
Makoto is a level 3 Sailor Senshi.

Sword of Thunderclaps (Nemesis) - Item of Power, Level 3. Makoto's Sword of Thunderclaps is her artifact weapon, capable of doing massive damage and summoning the storms of Jupiter. When used as a melee weapon, it  does ACV x 3 damage, can use it's deflection attack, and ties into some of Makoto's Senshi abilities. It may also have other capacities that are yet unlocked. (As Described in the 'Thunderclap Slash' attack, the sword adds  +1 to ACV)

Communicator - Item of Power, level 1. Allows contact with the other Senshi at any time. Does not seem to need batteries or other power. Beeps softly when being paged.

Senshi Traits:
Leaping, level 4 - Boosted from Level Three. Makoto can now make a standing jump of 40 feet. Enough to easily leap to the roof of an apartment. 2 or three stories high.

Rejuvination, Level 1

Energy Deflection, level 1. As PED in the Negaverse attributes, but with an additional +1 for every point under the ACV check made deflected. Uses ACV instead of Soul to check. Works on most forms of energy and some protectiles. May not be effective against certain types of attacks, and fails against water based attacks automatically.

Attacks-
Jupiter Thunder Hammer - Level 1, +2 damage for every one point below a bare ACV pass on the ACV roll.
Base damage is 10+ACV+ amount below ACV check passed.

Jupiter Thunder Smasher! - A melee attack, the Impact Blow makes two ACV checks normally - one for crushing damage and one for lighting damage. Both are considered seperate attacks, and deal damage as the normal Thunder Hammer attack. However, a natural 12 may have detrimental effects on Makoto. Takes 20 EP and is counted as a level 2 attack, despite doing 10 base damage for each hit.

Jupiter Flechette Rain - by nature an imprecise attack, due to sheer overwhelming volume of fire, it can inflict heavy damage. While Makoto is standing on the ground, it does 35 base damage and however many the ACV is passed by is multiplied by 2 and added to this.

Secondary note: DCV of target is assigned a +3 mod to dodge this attack.

Also, When Makoto is in the Air and firing on an earthbound target, the Flechette Rain gives a +1 bonus to ACV. It costs 30 EP to use.

Sword Attacks:

Jupiter Thunderclap Slash - identical to Hammer Crash. It hits twice, for cutting and electric damage. However, the damage on each shot is up by ten(Base damage to 20) on each hit, and gets the +1 to ACV melee attacks with the sword gets. Adds 10 to the EP cost.

Dragon Claw Attack. Essentially, Makoto pushes a heavy charge into the sword of Thunderclaps, and hurls it with all her might. The rotation turns the sword into a deadly buzz saw...but the sword does not waver in it's flight until it returns to the hand of it's Mistress. "It is possible to dodge the fangs of the Dragon (Makoto with the sword in hand) But the winds of it's lung leave one vulnerable to it's claws."

Stats- A simple attack, simple damage. 29 Damage, costs 10 EP.

Combined Attacks - Level 2 (See book for details)

Elemental-
Elemental Control, Lighting, Level 4.
As her main ability, Makoto can control lighting, electricity, and other similar forms.
Elemental Control, Wood Level Level 1
Makoto has a minor affinity with wood and plants. While naturally expressed, it is not as strong as her capacity with her more offensive elemental.
Elemental Control, Animals, level 2
Makoto has a minor affinity with Animals.

Elemental Affinity, Level 2 -
Nullify Lighting damage and power completely on Makoto. She can now stick her hand in a electric socket and not go sparky. Whee.

Electrical Absorption. With a soul check to gather energy, Makoto can recover 5 EP per round. Without a soul check and with a steady source, Makoto can recover 10 EP ar ound. (Think a power socket, for example.) If Makoto is completely emerged in her element or in constant contact in a round, she can recover up to 20 automatically without losing other actions.

Teleportation
Allows teleportation of Makoto and up to one other person, no size restriction. The cost is 25 EP, and requires a Soul check at -3.

1. You can only teleport to an area you have visited personally, or been within ten feet of or so. Hotaru could teleport to her bedroom but not Okinawa, for example. (Unless she's been to Okinawa, but that's here nor there!). There must be knowledge of the place.
2. If directly in the light of site of the user, it is possible to teleport to a place - Hotaru could blink from one roof to another that's too far to jump across.
3. Teleporation is not foiled save by a magical field or object specifically made to counter teleporation. However, as Makoto teleports in a very virulent, electric force, such barriers are harder pressed to stop her. Gates of electrity often part much.
4. Teleporation is generally limited to the planet or world the  player is on. Generally.
5. On appearing, no tiredness is suffered, only the EP loss. The universe does not fight back in this minor way to one that does not attack it's underpinnings.
6. More rules and notes may be applied as circumstances dictates and clarifications are needed.
7. This skill may improve over time.

Flight-
Costs 15 EP to start, -10 if Makoto is directly in the influence of her power. (Not ECed, a real live source like a down power line.) With this Makoto can fly, hover and levitate her body. When in affect Makoto can fly at a fairly good speed(Undefined for the exactness, but 'fast' is a good bellweather for now until it's used more and we're comfy with it.) Once started, it drains no further EP until it ends. The duration is for as long as Makoto is in the air - she can briefly touch down for a few moments, but she needs to remain up or she'll lose her focus. Flying is a partial action - it can be used as well as a full action, but imposes a -3 to her initiative.

(Flying starts on her unmodded initiative, her other action at the modded initiative.) No check is needed to start unless under some form of notable duress. (GM's discretion.) IF a check is needed, Soul is the relevant stat.   As a general rule, falls last longer than a few seconds allow flying to stop them. Falling off a stepping stool probably isn't avoidable with fly to stop the whole two feet of slipping, but off a high roof is.[/img]
