A friend of mine has lined me up for a job as a Games Tester for Frontier, a company founded by the man who made Elite. Mind numbing tedium, but hey, I needed a job.

Interview in the next day or two.

I've had that job.  At several companies.  First party testing is especially mind-numbing, but also your best bet to getting your foot in the door.  From test, you can move into development or production.  Good things.

So ... good luck!

I now have to decide exactly how ambitious I feel.  We're signing yet another major computer vendor.  They need a project manager.  It'd be more than a small promotion, and if I got it, it'd keep me on my one-promotion-every-three-months track.

But it's even further from my field... more managerial, less technical.  I'm not sure how I feel about that.

I have to decide by next week.
