Part 4: Enter the Vault

[Dracos]

Jan:

And so it was evening.

Dracos

[Shukuen]

Leets coughed, a bit flustered at the old man's openess. At least he was more polite then some of the other people so far. "I'm not arguing it isn't safe. I'm just wondering what there is that would motivate someone to apply for citizenship."

[Dracos]

"Well, um, I don't usually argue for people to apply for citizenship." The older man looked a bit confused.

Dracos

[Shukuen]

"Then can you answer a few questions that have been bothering me about this city?" Leets prodded, "Such as why some of the people here are seem so paranoid with us tourists?"

[Dracos]

"We don't get many tourists.  Too many raiders about and really many of the other cities are sort of unclean."

Dracos

[Shukuen]

"I guess that explains a bit about the guns," Leets muttered, though he was in agreement with the sentiment. "We, the group I'm in, ran into a raider camp once and it certainly isn't an experience we would want to repeat."

"Anyway, what would someone have to go through to apply for citizenship?"

[Dracos]

"Well, Usually the only ways are to be born in or to pass a test to show you're physically, mentally, and socially up to spec."

Dracos

[Olvelsper]

Jan made his way towards the maintenance guild to see about picking up those parts.

[Dracos]

An older man was behind the counter this time as he stepped in.  The owner perhaps?

Dracos

[Shukuen]

"Do I take the test here then?" Leets asked after some thought.

[Dracos]

'You can.  Would you like to try?"

Dracos

[Olvelsper]

"Excuse me, sir. I've come to pick up some replacement parts for New Brunswick's water filter. I was told they'd be in by now." He made his way up to the owner.

[Shukuen]

"Yes, please."

[Dracos]

Jan:

"Ah, yes." He went under the desk and pulled out a large box.  "Here you go.  Be careful with 'em."

Dracos

[Dracos]

The man nodded, administering the test...

"We'll have your results tomorrow morning."
