Yo, I was bugged to put this up even though it's not finished. Right now, it's at the 'idea' stage and I'm still writing up the histories of the characters..

I warn thee, it gets pretty dark in.. well... Everywhere.

The main reason I started this was because I wanted to see just how bad I could fuck up the Sailor Senshi, and how to bring their 'powers' more into a relm I understand. So, the backing behind the idea is probably pretty weak. C&C welcome, smart ass comments shall be punished swiftly and with no remorse!

As I said, this is still in the 'idea' stage, and as such, is more of an outline.. But, eh, some of ya wanted it.

In a slightly futuristic world, the Sailor Senshi are reborn in Tokyo. But the Dark Kingdom was woken up a number of years before they were born. Due to the technological saturation and the resulting radiation and toxic wastes, Tokyo is almost a dead space for magic, restricting the Dark Kingdom to bringing back only their Generals. The Generals, using rebuilt Moon Kingdom technology, mad a few patents and used the residual royalties to begin corporations which eventually became the largest corporate bodies in Japan and the World. The Generals, each having their own agendas and ideas, each began their own corporations, completely independent of the other Generals, thus keeping the ties they have to each other secret, and often allowing the companies to compete with each other as an expression of their own internal disputes.

Sailor Pluto, unable to do anything to stop the Dark Kingdom alone, inserted herself into the military. Though the Time Gate was blind to Tokyo, she could still use it to view other parts of the world, and using this ability, propelled herself into the higher-archy of the Military Intelligence groups. Using her position and manipulations, she instituted a Black-Ops training unit. Using her intelligence resources, she searched for the Senshi to be reborn, and after a few years, found them. Having seen what the Dark Kingdom was doing, she had long ago 'sneaked' in a law that would allow her to place the Senshi under state care, and did so. Once under state care, she quickly ran governmental red tape around them until they basically disappeared. Once she accomplished this, she began training them for their war.

While she trained all of them in all military weapons, their elemental ties did begin to express themselves.
Rei discovered a fondness for Flame Throwers, Molotov Cocktails, and Grenades, especially Phosphorus Grenades, Napalm, and Thermite Charges.
Ami found she felt natural with a knife in her hand, darting from shadow to shadow, doing stealth insertions, reconnaissance, and, conversely, Water Charge Breaching Kits.
Jupiter specialized in hand to hand combat, abductions, and information extraction. She found herself mesmerized by the dancing electricity from tazers and stun batons, and so, was never without one.
Moon, in accordance with her somewhat clumsy, yet oddly directed nature, found her friends in the explosives and demolitions group. She found she could instantly figure out where to place an explosive to do what was needed, but her clumsy nature kicked in, often guiding her to a far larger amount of explosives than what was required.
Uranus specialized in all things mobile, preferring armored vehicles. Her need to be behind a wheel has inspired her to make military vehicles perform more like high end performance cars than the rolling death they truly are.
Pluto herself specializes in infiltration reconnaissance and sniping. While preferring a silence rifle, she has many more larger, anti-armor rifles at her disposal than one would think.
Neptune, her true warmth encased in cold elegance, found herself in the command chair of an Orbital Laser Platform, delighting in the cold, detached destruction of her precision strikes.
Saturn, never one to be out-done in terms of destruction, took command of an experimental Neutron Weapons Platform, finding herself admiring the small, unobtrusive orbs she launched into the atmosphere that could wipe out all organic matter.

Character Backgrounds-

Venus-
As a child, Venus was taken from her home in Japan by her parents to work in England for a relief workers union. After a few years, around Venus'  seventh birthday, they undertake a job to deliver some medical supplies and food to a province in Africa. While there, a group of Gurilla Revolutionists attack the village. Hiding their daughter, Venus' parents are tortured instead of executed for hiding their daughter from the Gurillas. The three men that found them proceed to torture her father and rape her mother while forcing her to watch. As her parents lie dying, her mind retreats, and her instincts reach out to her planet, giving her an unstable, temporary power up. Wrenching the knife from the hand of her inattentive and unsuspecting guard, she slashes his throat and charges the other two men. Startled by the inhuman speed of the seven year old, they are taken by surprise. The first man, the one raping her mother to death, dies as he gets tripped up by the pants around his ankles. She drives the knife to the hilt into his chest before slitting his stomach open like a gutted deer carcass. She turns the third man who, in his fear, manages to fire a few rounds, three go wide, but the fourth hits her in the right shoulder, and the fifth takes her in the ribs on her left side. Through speed and momentum, she reaches the man who tortured her father to death in front of her and begins to stab him repeatedly until she has no strength left. A passing attacker, hearing the commotion, looks in and begins screaming, attracting the attention of the Gurilla leader. When he sees what Venus did, he immediately draws his pistol, but upon looking at her dead stare, realizes that a simple death can never be punishment enough.

He packs her up and takes her to their base of operations, where he turns her over to their surgeon, who, without any pain killers, proceeds to remove the two bullets and stitch her up. Once healed, the leader turns her over to the camp to be used as a slave and camp whore. After a few years of enduring this life, she begins to kill the men around her using what she learned from watching them. Her mind retreats into this as her only form of release, and once caught, she is first tortured, then utilized. They allow her the freedom of leaving the camp, but only on assassination missions, liaison missions to other cells, deliveries, and training. During one such delivery of cocaine, she is intercepted by Pluto, whom she attacks as she attempts to 'rescue' Venus. After a few rounds of vicious fire fights, Pluto uses her better marksmanship to shoot Venus with a rubber bullet to the solar plexus, thus incapacitating her. Pluto then returns her to the training facility, and begins to deprogram her, eventually using her to train the Senshi in all things ballistic. Later, when their origins are revealed, Pluto is asked why she simply didn't use the Time Gates to find Venus as she was out of Japan. But, since she was born in Tokyo, and lived her for the first few years of her life, her body was already damaged by the radiation and toxic make up of Tokyo, blinding the Time Gates to her permeantly.

Mars-
Her father was an important politician. He married Rei's mother more out of a public view and relations concept than out of love, and with him having to travel for work all the time, never intruded upon the world his wife and daughter had built together. Rei and her mother had a special bond, as most mothers and daughters profess to have, and both were happy. Her father, traveling as he did, and finding mistresses in his secretaries and assistants, like-wise was happy with the arrangement. Roughly 6 years after Rei's birth, her father took one of his assistants as a mistress and shortly got her pregnant. The girl, foolishly believing Rei's father loved her, told him of the pregnancy. Once told, he saw his life and work about to be brought down around him, and ordered her to have an abortion and to leave and never return. In shock and fear of losing his 'love' she got the abortion, but asked to stay with him. He laughed at her, and reminded her he already had a wife, so there wasn't really any reason for her to be around. Broken by the loss of his 'love' and the guilt of killing her own child, which in the process she became barren, she cast around for a place to lay blame, refusing to believe that her own feelings of love were misplaced.

She then began stalking Rei's father, and latched on to his wife to place the blame on. She began sending threats and stalking Rei's mom. Rei, being too young to understand, none the less knew something was wrong, and became worried and frightened by her mothers continual stress. One night, while she was having a sleep over at a friends', Rei's mother was murdered by the woman. Rei, having found her mother's body, went into emotional shock. Her father tried to take care of her, but after being just a name for so long of her life, couldn't figure out what to do with his daughter, and thus sent her to her Grandfathers shrine. After living there for a few years and burying her life into the shrine and her Shinto religion, she began to slowly recover, while developing a great love for her Grandfather. Around the age of 9, her mother's murderer made a re-appearance in the shrine. She began to once more stalk Rei, sending threats and stories of blame for the death of her child. One morning, after finishing her chores, she began her meditations of the Sacred Fire. While meditating, she was startled out of her trance only to find her mother's murderer standing behind her with a knife. The woman began screaming and yelling at her, blaming her for the death of her child and the loss of her lover. She attacked Rei screaming, 'It's because of you and your bitch mother I couldn't be with him and have my own family! He didn't want me or my child because he already had YOU!' Rei tried to flee, but the older woman simply over-matched her and Rei found herself held by the woman. Frightened, Rei struck out, jabbing her fingers into the womans eyes, blinding her. In her attempt to break away from the woman, both getting tangled in Rei's bulky shrine uniform. Rei, panicking with fright because she couldn't break free began to kick and shove at the woman, knocking her off balance even further, and directly into the Sacred Fire. Rooted to her spot by the womans dying screams, she watched her burn, and had an epiphany: The sins of her father and of others took away her mother. The sinners must be punished, and her Savior, the Sacred Fire, and all other fire, were her sword to strike them down with.

Mercury-
Mercury's mother worked her way through the medical world and became the personal official to a government official while Mercury was still young. Because of her job, she had to travel constantly, and this lead to her divorce. Mercury was officially given into the custody of her mother, but because of her traveling, she ended up spending most of her time with her father. The divorce of her parents wasn't because they began hating each other, it was because they simply fell out of love with each other. Because of this, Mercury's home life was still a loving environment, and she often had things explained to her, which allowed her to understand the situation and adjust to it well. Her mother encouraged her to get into the medical field, while her father often indulged her, and allowed her to try many things at a young age. Because of this, she found out quickly that she enjoyed technology and helping others. She began to volunteering at a hospital when she was 8 to visit with some of the patients and help the nurses with small tasks. One day, she was visiting some patients when an emergency came in. The nurses, too busy with the injured victim, pushed the victims daughter off on Mercury, who spent most of the day consoling the young, blond girl. When her father came to pick her up, she asked if they could let the blond girl, who's name was Usagi, sleep over for the night. After talking with the girl's father, they agreed it would be best to have her out of the way for the time being, and would help her father deal with his stress. The two girls began to talk and became fast friends. The following day, they took Usagi back to the hospital where her mother was pronounced dead later that evening. Usagi was taken home by her father, but kept in close contact with Mercury. Over time, Mercury helped Usagi cope with her loss, and eventually became as close as sisters, and in some cases, closer.

A few years after the accident, something changed in Usagi's life, and she began to confide in Mercury about some strange training she was going through that taught her how to fight and do all sorts of strange things. Catching Mercury's curiosity, she began doing some research on the types of things Usagi was telling her about. She began to learn how to fight, getting the basics from Usagi and convincing her father to enroll her in some self defense classes. As she learned to fight, she began noticing some common things between the way she was taught to strike the body, and things from her medical studies. She began comparing the two and soon figured out the weaknesses of the human body. After working out her new system of strikes and the weak points on the body, she came to the conclusion that many of them couldn't be effectively hit with just the hand, so she began using small knives and scalpels, as well as make shift shivs. After she began practicing and working out some of the awkwardness in the system, she began teaching some of the basic attacks to Usagi. Usagi trusted her friend and used the strikes in her training, often dropping her opponents, and sometimes her instructors, with precision. Pluto, intrigued by the strange style, began some discrete inquires about where she learned it. When Usagi began to avoid the questions, she had her put on surveillance.

After a few days, Mercury caught on to the men tailing her friend, and eventually simply snuck up on a few of them and dropped them with some simple strikes. Having never actually used the strike against a real person before, some of the men she attacked died from the attacks, while the ones who did survive to report to Pluto were hospitalized. Pluto, not realizing who Mercury actually was, ordered her death, fearing that she was a plant to get inside her organization. When her agents attacked the house, Mercury's father was quickly killed. His death galvanized Mercury, and she used her knowledge of the house to hide and strike back at the agents. Her knives and scalpels made short work of the small force, and she interrogated those who survived.

Using her knowledge of pain centers, she was able to get the agents to talk, and thus found out the location of the training facility. She followed her information to the facility and quietly worked her way inside, using the methodical patience that her medical training taught her. Before she fully broke into the facility, she hacked into the mainframe and got the schematics of it, using them to by pass areas she knew she couldn't get into. While in the system, she found a log of all the orders that were passed down, and traced the strike order to a specific office, and began working her way there.

Once hidden in the office, she waited until Pluto entered. Before she entered, however, here presence in the computer and facility was detected and the security alarms went off. Pluto rushed to her computer, in her office, and began issuing orders. Distracted with the situation, Pluto didn't realize she was alone, thus allowing Mercury to come out of hiding and attack her, quickly dropping her to the ground with a few blows. As Mercury stood over her, she drew a knife and held it to Pluto's throat saying, "My name is Ami Mizuno. You killed my father, prepare to die." As she began to slowly draw the knife across Pluto's jugular, Usagi burst into the office, asking for orders from Pluto before realizing the situation. Mercury, confused by her presence and seemingly subordinate position to the person responsible for the death of her father, hesitated and Pluto used opportunity to sweep her and subdue her.

After being taken into custody, Mercury was questioned and refused to answer. Usagi intervened just before the agents were going to torture the information out of her, and asked her friend what was going on. After hearing the story from Mercury, Moon silently marched up to Pluto and decked her, then proceeded to chew her a new asshole. Pluto, understanding the depth of her mistake, and released Mercury, but couldn't release her from the facility its self. Usagi once again interceded to solve the problem and got Mercury, in a round about way, to agree to joining the team as a 'consultant,' there-by forcing her into silence about the organization.

Usagi followed her friend home, and over the next few weeks, helped her come to terms with the loss of her father. After having dealt with that, she brought her back to the facility to begin her training, always trying to keep Mercury and Pluto apart from each other. Mercury, determined to gain the skills that would help her keep those she loved safe, took to the training with a single-minded vengeance. After doing some of the training and finding out more about the missions of the organization, Mercury gave herself over to it, determined to keep Usagi safe. Though part of the team officially, Mercury often holds herself apart from the rest of the team, caring only for Usagi's presence. Mercury often tells Pluto that she will be the one to kill her, and takes it to the extremes of placing false traps and sneaking up to Pluto while holding a knife, tormenting her with her games. As she sees more and more of the team, she begins to dislike them even more, eventually flat out fighting some and extending her 'games' with Pluto to some of them as well. Often times, the drawing of blood is held off by Usagi alone. Though hateful of the team, Mercury still works with them to ensure the mission success, and because she no longer trusts anyone else to keep Usagi safe. Under those ideas, she began taking over the information gathering, reconnaissance, and surveillance, as well as taking out the target specifically herself, in an effort to keep Usagi out of the fight. The determination to do these things eventually raises her to the position of Recon Ops and Assassin within the team, who, because of her cold attitude and clinic detachment to her job have labeled her the 'Bitch of Ice.'

Jupiter-
Jupiter's life began in Okinawa, where industrialization was kept to a minimum due to the military base there. While the military base encouraged growth to a certain degree, it was self sufficient, therefore, the area didn't really need much more industry, as it was supported by the tourism industry. This lower level of pollution allowed Pluto to gain some idea of where Jupiter was, and even, at times, allowed her view Jupiter, but never long enough to solidly find out who she was. Jupiter, oblivious to this, led her life out with her parents. Her mother was a detective, and was quickly promoted to Detective, where upon she transfered to the the Narcotics Division of her precinct. During one of her stings, Jupiter's mother had a suspect escape, and while she took custody of massive amounts of drugs, specifically Exstacy, the suspect got away clean. After the case left the fore-mind of the department, the drug dealer was able to find out who was in charge of the sting, and planned his revenge. Gaining support from others in his organization, they hunted her mother down at their house, attacking it. When they burst into the house, her mother was able to react in time to draw her pistol and kill a few of the gang members, though this served to simply enrage the group more. As the fire fight rose to it's hight in their home, Jupiter, hiding in her room, saw her mother get shot and go down. Just as she was about to run to her mother, she watched as her father charged the gang members holding down her mother and attack. The gang members quickly killed the man, shooting him in the head multiple times. She watched as her father's body hit the ground, right outside of her room, and was stunned into inaction by the sight. The drug dealers, wary of anyone else in the house began to search it, and found Jupiter hiding and softly crying, unable to look away from her father. The gang take her to the living room, where they've begun raping her mother, seeing this, she begins to fight violently when they try to rip her clothes off. She succeeds in gouging out the eyes of two, and clawing the face of a third into deformity before 3 of the 5 remaining men pile on top of her and hold her down.

Once they get control of her, they drag her over next to her mother so she can see what they're doing to her. This again triggers Jupiter to begin fighting. Tired of this, they hold her down and force-feed her five hits of Exstacy after slapping her mother back to reality. Seeing this, her mother begins to fight back again, as her daughter goes into convulsions from her massive over-dose. Her convulsions serve to knock a few of the men holding her off balance, and into one of the men holding her mother. Jupiter's mother takes advantage of this and breaks loose, knocking one of the men out as she grabs the tazer from her work clothes, and begins to taze the living shit out of the men still conscious. One of them is in contact with her daughter as she tazes him, and it transfers the charge into Jupiter, kick starting her heart and bringing her back to life and semi-consciousness. She opens her eyes just in time to see the gang member her mother knocked out stand up and fire a few rounds into the back of her mother's skull, splattering her with brain matter and skull fragments. This sight causes her adrenaline to kick in, and she picks up the tazer from her mothers' hands and tazes the man who killed her mother while he's trying to pick up one of his comrades. The man collapses from the shock, and she moves around him and applies the tazer to his throat non-stop until the police, called by their neighbors after hearing the first shots, arrive and pull her off.

After the shock of it wears off, she wakes to find herself contained in an institution geared towards helping trauma victims recover. After spending years there, she's released after her 12th birthday and testifies against the men who attacked her house, sending them to Death Row. She's put into the witness protection program and moved to Hokkaido, where she begins going to school. Because of her background and disposition, she ends up falling in with the 'bad' crowd, and gets taken to a Rave party. While there, she's given a drink that has Exstacy mixed in. Because of her earlier experience with it, she becomes addicted to it and begins to get further and further into the drug rings. Refusing to use her body to get her fix, she begins using some of the self defense her mother taught her to participate in pit fighting. Using the novelty of a young girl in the ring to gain a reputation, she begins to become recognized and gains access to a number of drug dealers, who are all more than happy to provide her and her reputation. The reason she does so well in the ring is due, in no small part, to her almost constant high off of Exstacy. Not really feeling the pain, she is able to fight better than the average person. Eventually, the dealers begin to demand more of her, trying to turn her into their own personal plaything. Jupiter manages to figure this out, and learns that often times, the temptation of sex is enough to get her what she wants.

Over time, she becomes established. One night, shortly before one of her fights, the Hokkaido police burst into the arena, and in the ensuing riot level chaos, she tries to fight her way out, dropping more than a few of the officers. Eventually, they take her down and put her into custody. While in processing, her name gets flagged and the Witness Protection Program intervenes, and once more relocate her, this time to Tokyo, in exchange for testifying against the drug dealers. After getting out of rehab in Tokyo, Jupiter started to fall back in with the Raver group, and eventually fell back on Exstacy. Once more, Pluto was able to keep track of her going into Hokkaido, and was able to track to Tokyo due to her case file being flagged again. Finding out that she was moved to Tokyo, Pluto begins having agents monitor the schools, Rave centers, and underground rings, waiting for Jupiter to fall back on her habits.

While buying her fix, Jupiter ends up getting busted, and gets taken in. Once more, her case file gets flagged, and Pluto's agents pick up on it. She quickly intervenes, manipulating things so that Jupiter gets released into her custody. Once in positive control of Jupiter, Pluto brings her into the facility, masking it as a pit fighting ring. Once actually in the facility, Jupiter picks up that it's not a pit fight arena, and becomes hostile. Pluto manages to calm her down and explain things so that her organization appears to be a high level Organized Crime Task Force, and convinces Jupiter to help her bring down the kinds of people who killed her parents. Once reminded of her parents, Jupiter's' desire for vengeance once more comes to the fore and she agrees to help, immediately going into training, never once letting go of the tazer her mother used to save her life.

I'm sure that I've read a draft of your "Venus" story before, somewhere, at some time and commented on it.  Why not post it?  It's alot easier to critique a story rather than an idea.


I had a similar idea (military Senshi), although it's supposed to be an original fic.

Basically, in the near future America sends an expedition to the moon and discovers an the ruins of an underground civilization (Carcosa).  Some archeology and anthropology studies were conducted, but the opening of a dimensional gate in the Antarctic, and a subsequent demonic invasion caused non-essential projects, such as spaceflight, to be put on underfunded status.  Eventually, the destruction of launching facilities during demonic raids caused them to be put to the wayside altogether.

Unfortunately, bullets don't seem to work well on demons, and even explosions don't stop them for long.  But a few of the artifacts found during the lunar mission seem to be weapons that DO kill demons effectively.  However, these weapons must be attenuated to their users.  This set only attenuates with females, and the best time for attenuation is during puberty.

Lucky for Earth, it's actually quite simple to make these weapons.  In fact, factory production of the weapons begins almost immediately.  But since most of the miliaties on Earth don't even have female troops, most of those females are not part of line units, and many of THOSE females are past their teenage years, there's a serious shortage of effective troops.  The draft structure, in countries where it's still used, tends to have info on males, but not females.  So the practice of pressganging "Sailors" begins once more...
