Mike paused in his pacing as he heard Asrana proclaim herself not a martial artist. Having lost a lot  of his momentum in the conversation/argument he simply stood there staring at Asrana for a while, his mind racing before he descided on his course of action.

"I see..." Was all he said before letting out a sight and looking around. "Then your not a martial artist, yet I am sure you know how to pull a punch, causeing it to not beak a bone, even if he did a dishonerable act I still don't think he deserved that."

Asrana just looked at him, "All of the other techniques that would've put him out of action involve breaking bones in one or more of the chest, leg, head, neck, back, and pelvis regions. In that situation pulling the blow would have left him in action, not acceptable with his mental stability."

She nodded slightly to him, "That is your opinion. But he attacked a good friend of mine and should have known that I would defend Wraith as quickly as possible."

Asrana looked down at Kei, "I used a mental restoration spell and then psionics to put him to sleep."

Mike trailed off as he turned his head to Wraith, and scrutinised him closely before looking back at Kei.

"Ah well, I'll ask him later when he wakes up, but for now I would like to go ask Calen a few things." Mike said while sanding and turned to Asrana. "By your leave Princess." He continued formally, while adding a friendly "I'll catch ya later!" to Wraith.

He stared hard at Kei for a few moments, then at Mike's departing back. He then looked up at Asrana.

"I don't get it." He admitted.

"That seems unnecessarily complicated. Not one of them believes the 'shortest distance between two points is a straight line'?"

He paused a moment. "I mean, fighting is all about finding the quickest way to kill or disable your opponent, isn't it?"

"Aside from sparring, I mean." He amended.

Asrana smiled, "I haven't met a martial artist yet that believed that and wasn't shunned by the other martial artists."

She nodded, "For us, the assassins, mercenaries, and soldiers it is. For a martial artist...no. My guess is they gain skill for the purpose of skill. While we gain it as a survival method."
