Shukuen

Dropping the damp branches, Shukuen carried the dry ones back to build the fire up with.

"I hope this is enough," he muttered as he reached the camp's edge.

Bean Bandit

Bean looked up as the hooded man returned, with an armload of branches.

"Well...maybe he isn't as bad as the anime, then...?" she murmured, too softly for Yahiko or any of the other people congregated nearby to overhear. She smiled at him as he came back.

"Thank you," she said again, bowing slightly.

Shukuen

"Right, right," Shukuen answered idly, slowly feeding the branches into the flames to build up the fire. "Just get dry unless you prefer giving the brat a free show." He smirked slightly, not even looking at either at them to see their reaction from his teasing, opting to keep his attention completely on the rising fire.

Bean Bandit

Bean's newly formed goodwill toward the stranger vanished. I will NOT drop a boulder on his skull...I will not drop... She began chanting to herself.

She hauled Yahiko to a sitting position near the fire, moving herself and the boy next to the hooded man.

"Just worry about where YOUR eyes are, Zelga-er..."

I hope he doesn't ask...how do I explain how I know that?She panicked.

Shukuen

"I know exactly where my eyes are," Shukuen replied, his voice going neutral. "They're making sure I don't overdo this fire."

"And besides that, it's obvious you know who I am. So you can stop trying to hide that now."

Bean Bandit

Bean sighed faintly, shoving away the irrational suspicion that he'd just insulted her. Dammit...Oh well...I've never been good at poker faces anyway.

"You're right. I do know who you are...but Why are you here? This is a long way from where you usually travel..." She said in a low voice, pitched so that it would be difficult to overhear.

Shukuen

"I already told you what I know," he said calmly, placing the remaining branches away now that he was satisfied with the fire. He then chuckled suddenly, as he added: "Not that I'd be able to remember enough to tell you anyway."

Bean Bandit

Bean blinked. Okay...that was distinctly un-Zel-like...

"Why wouldn't you be able to remember?" She asked curiously, tilting her head, her annoyance forgotten. There's something odd here...

Shukuen

Shukuen tapped his head, smirking under the mask covering the lower half of his face. "My memory is always random. Sometimes, it's a steel trap. Othertimes, it's like a net with holes large enough to drive one of those 'SUV' things."

He sweatdropped, glancing at the boy, "Or one of those new horseless carrage things."

Bean Bandit

Bean's eyes widened at the mention...and then narrowed. You aren't Zelgadis, are you??She stifled the urge to blurt that out, and simply nodded.

"Right..." she agreed. Can't say anything more in front of Yahiko...or...wait. Her brow furrowed in concentration, she switched to English...and was promptly appalled at her thick, halting accent.

<You...and I...we need talk, later.>

Oh god...am I forgetting how to speak English?

Shukuen

Shukuen blinked, stared, blinked again, then said in slightly smoother, but still accented english. <You aruso need speech serapy,> he said, slightly amused at his own accent.

Bean Bandit

Bean twitched, and restrained herself from hitting the stone man.Calm down. You'll just hurt yourself.

She settled for a glare. "Hmph."

Shukuen

Shukuen returned her glare with a rather infuriating grin. That is, it would have been infuriating if she could see behind the mask, but still.

"So, apparently you know who I'm suppose to be. Now, who are you two?"

Bean Bandit

'Supposed to be'. He knows I'm not who I look like, too. Bean was suddenly wary. Well, Yahiko is listening, so I'm not going any father with the 'who are you really?' angle...

"I'm Kaoru Kamiya," Bean said, slowly, internally wincing over the feminine name for the body she wore. There's no help for it. Let it go. You ARE Kaoru, and a girl, for the time being, so stop stressing over it, or you'll give Kaoru's body an ulcer. She turned her gaze slightly to the silent boy watching them. "This is my apprentice, Yahiko Myojin."

Shukuen

"Nice to be introduced, I think," Shukuen blinked unsurely, then shrugged, returning to the fire.
