Bean Bandit

Bean frowned. "Yahiko told me what happened while I retrieved the children." she told him, adjusting her grip on the kimono. "Who are you? You can't be Zelgadis...."

Shukuen

"You're right, I'm not Zelgadis. Just like you aren't who you pretend to be," Shukuen said, a tinge of annoyance in his voice.

"Ungrateful brat... those things killed people and he goes all rightous because I tried to keep them from killing anymore," he muttered.

Bean Bandit

Bean scowled. "That's irrelevant. He has his own set of values, and they're his. But he has a right to be worried. Life is cheap around here, and most of the people who kill casually are bad guys."

She suddenly felt a slight chill as she voiced the concern aloud. She adjusted her grip on the sword and kimono. "So, I'll ask again. Who are you?"

Shukuen

Shukuen facepalmed, muttering, "I don't believe this... even here, the lives of those... kelpie rejects have more value than humans..." Sighing, he stared idly at Kaoru, "Fine, I'll tell you my name. If you tell me who you are."

Bean Bandit

Bean sighed. "I think you missed the point. But, yes, I'll tell you who I am." She shifted uneasily, looking up at the stone man.

"I don't give my real name out much, but most people call me Bean Bandit," she admitted, blushing and fidgeting slightly.

Shukuen

Shukuen blinked. Blinked again. Then asked, "Bean Bandit... as in the yakuza type or the fanfic writer?"

Bean Bandit

Bean's eyes widened, and her blush grew several shades darker.

"Um...I write fanfic...or did, anyway...Do I know you?"

Shukuen

Shukuen blinked in disbelief as he responded. "Shukuen. Is that really you, Bean?"

Bean Bandit

Bean nodded dumbly, just staring in shock, not even noticing she'd released her hold on her torn kimono.

"Shuk...uen?" she backed off a step, suddenly acutely embarrassed.

Shukuen

Shukuen sweatdropped. "I suppose all those times you got Kaoru on those characters tests weren't coincidence after all..."

Bean Bandit

Bean stifled the urge to smack him. No, that'd just prove him right...

"Ha, ha." she said dryly. "It's not like Zelgadis doesn't suit you, you know...Is it too much to hope that you know what's happened, besides the obvious?"

Shukuen

"Hmm... it depends, I guess," Shukuen sighed, trying to massage a headache. "How much do you know? I'd hate to say useless things you already heard."

Bean Bandit

Bean sighed and pushed her hair out of her eyes. "I know I woke up in a body that doesn't suit me." She grumbled. "I know a lot of the details of this...well, the anime that's based on this? Something like that. Anyway, that about covers it."

Shukuen

"Well, from what I figure, we and four others are suppose to show up in Kyoto and help in some fight. Don't know who we help or how, but that's the basic gist of it," Shukuen said. "At least, I think that's it..."

Bean Bandit

Bean boggled. "Fight?" she repeated, amazed. "If it's in Kyoto, it can only be Shishio...and Kenshin..." She felt a chill and gave a small shiver as she spoke.

"But why? In the original, Kenshin won...He doesn't need help..."
