Moore moves back just a bit to let Tryll #1 handle this!

Yuthirin

'Constants exist in life. Tides change, currents shift, and the whims of gods are inscrutable. The death of my race is no more my responsibility than the ebb and flow of the river Oceanus. Our god chose to end my people, and I chose not to heed the call to enter paradise. I make my own currents now, and choose the destiny of my people because it is needed again.

As for being forgotten...time eventually erases all things, but not me. Not myself, or Gytha, or the few others that still live in the planes. The irrigo will return, in time. I will define what we can achieve.'
What if they're not stars at all? What if the night sky is full of titanic far-off lidless eyes, staring in all directions across eternity?

Anastasia

The other Tryll does not blink or react, but presses instead. 'Then if all of this will fade in time, what sort of paragon am I? What is the point if I cannot create a race that will endure the test of time, rather than wither and die?'

<Afina> Forever.

<Yuthirin> Afina, giant parasitic rainbow space whale.
<IronDragoon> I mean, why not?

Yuthirin

'Precisely what is needed. With all things being cyclical, what matters most is not lasting the test of time, but having the most impact in the time allotted. We become greater than the sum of our parts by lifting up others, not by ensuring a lasting legacy. Legacies come on their own, or do not. I am not concerned with them.

As for death...all mortal creatures will die, eventually. Though I have shed most of my mortality, I too shall likely die some day. Existential dread is pointless, and accomplishes nothing. What matters is now. This moment, and what I choose to do with it. I define myself not as a coward or a failure, but as one who lifts up the spirits of others and guards against tyranny. I am a master of the mind arts and a dabbling sorcerer besides. I am an artist, a wanderer, and a merchant. I am all of the things we once valued, and will value again.

Some day, we may fade again, but all things fade eventually. Such is the nature of Creation. Instead of allowing the natural entropy of all things to paralyze, allow it to catalyze great change and growth.'

'Then what sort of paragon will I be?' the other Tryll asks. 'What shall I do with dust and memories?'

This is a really direct way of handling this sort of thing, isn't it.

Moore just continues to fly there. Maybe he'll even talk to the Moore who is Moore.

Yuthirin

'The right kind. The needed kind. As for your dust and your memories, you can keep them. I've no need for old things. The past is useful only in teaching lessons and wisdom. It is not something to cling to. I'll build new things and make new memories.'

The other Tryll goes silent at this. He pauses for a time before he speaks, 'What sort of paragon relies on another, rather than his own power?' His attention turns to Moore.

<Afina> Forever.

<Yuthirin> Afina, giant parasitic rainbow space whale.
<IronDragoon> I mean, why not?

Nephrite

Well, technically speaking, the question wasn't -really- directed at him, so he stays silent unless asked otherwise!

Yuthirin

'One who understands the value of synergy, and does not believe that he alone is the solution to all things. Acknowledgement of one's limitations is the key to surpassing them.'
What if they're not stars at all? What if the night sky is full of titanic far-off lidless eyes, staring in all directions across eternity?

Anastasia

'Then what limited creature could be a paragon, one who relies on another? What sort of weakness will serve you to lead the irrigo? Will he be a lackey of yours to cover your failings?'
<Afina> Imagine a tiny pixie boot stamping on a devil's face.
<Afina> Forever.

Man, this Tryll is a jerk!

Moore folds his arms and does his best to not look insulted. He succeeds for the most part.

Yuthirin

#192
'If I were perfect, I would not be here before you seeking perfection.' Tryll replies blandly, 'In the interests of completing the ritual, though, I will answer. Leading from the rear is not better or worse than leading from the front. It's simply a different leadership style. It is, however, imperative to understand that leadership relies on a group of people. I am not alone. Whether I lead a charge or manage from a war room or break ground on a city or design the plans and provide them to an architect; the end result is the same. Synergy is important.'

At this the other Tryll is silent, and then a moment later vanishes. That door closes and fades away, only for another to appear a little past it.

<Afina> Forever.

"I have to wonder if these answers are more for yourself, I admit." Moore says with a smile. "Either way, well said."
