"Would temporal stabilisation work here?" she looks back towards Chrona. "Or does it require something stronger for a structured effect like this?"

Anastasia

"You need Dispel Paradox," Chrona approaches, "It is a 5th circle spell. Your divine will should be adequate for it." He gestures at the distortion, "Paradoxes are powerful and mighty, and stronger ones need stronger measures to undo. This is a simple paradox."

<Afina> Forever.

<Yuthirin> Afina, giant parasitic rainbow space whale.
<IronDragoon> I mean, why not?

Ebiris

"Does it resist dispel magic like a wall of force would?" she asks, exerting her will once more to straighten time out around that sword-hilt.

Anastasia

"Yes. You need specialized magic," Chrona says, as you feel lit. Another spell becoming evident to you, the paradox resolving, the hilt of the sword now clear and no longer surrounded by twisted time.

Now Alicia looks to see if the sword is magical at all!

Taking 10 for 56 on spellcraft.

"What an interesting sword," Alicia says, pulling it out of the sand and opening her portable hole to store it. "I actually meant to ask, what happened to magic items made before the Compact that employ Chronomancy? Artifacts especially, since they're not exactly easy to destroy," she asks Chrona.

Anastasia

"We gathered them all and sealed them away. Mystra was helpful," Chrona says, before coughing lightly. "It was part of the Compact."

"That makes sense. Do you need healing or anything for that cough?" she asks afterwards.

Anastasia

"Thank you," Chrona says, straightening, "I need repair, but it can wait until this is concluded."

At this Syala smiles a little bit, "So you have to wait a bit? Well, what if one of us sends you into the past far enough for you to get those repairs, then you come back? We're allowed to while we're here, aren't we?"

"...Technically, I...suppose you are right?" Chrona says slowly, almost grindingly, as if his gears are slowing. "That is...not incorrect."

"It's safe while we're here but if Chrona leaves this area and returns to Mechanus in the past for repairs might he not be seen as in violation?" Alicia asks, liking the idea but not sure if it's really safe.

Anastasia

"I am a quarut. I serve those who keep the Compact, the rules are not the same for me," Chrona says. "Those who watch me understand time."

"Then I suppose you should follow Syala's advice. We'll wait right here," Alicia says, deferring to his understanding of his own rules.

In an instant he is gone - and a split second later he's back. "Ah!" he declares, voice jaunty, "I feel reborn!" His face is split in a smile, "Chrona 42, at your services. Have you found everything suitable so far? What about the Sword of Eons?"

"It's slightly unwieldy but I never much liked those kinds of inbetween-sized blades," Alicia says. "The enchantment makes for a novel curiosity but unless fighting a massively powerful goblin I don't think any foe I face would die of old age before they died of being cut apart. Though similarly a mortal wielder could extend their life with it, the amount they have to take from others is massively lopsided for the benefit. You'd need to go on quite the killing spree to fend off the approaching years."
