It's a rather complicated read for obvious reasons, but you begin to get the gist. It's a history book, a history book of pasts that you know never happened.

"Once a day, you can read this book to see a history that never was, up to the current time. Though the farther in the past you go, the less reliable it is," Chrona says.

"If I study it enough, I'll see the temporal cold war that lead to the Compact?"

[Anastasia]

"Cold?" The Inevitable says, "Well, Ice wasn't involved in it any more or less than other planes, though there was that incident with all the primal elementals on Ice."

[Corwin]

Well it certainly wasn't hot from the start, Seira muses. "I presume the book is mine to keep? How detailed do the histories get? Would they cover my own actions on Prime prior to my ascension?"

[Anastasia]

"It is yours. I suggest learning by experimenting with it," The Inevitable says.

[Corwin]

"I can experiment with using temporal magic on it?"

[Anastasia]

"By using the book," Chrona says, "Focus on the possibility you wish to see."

[Corwin]

Seira decides to try it! Holding the book in her hands, she focuses on the actual history of her first time venturing into the God-King's ruins.

[Anastasia]

What is the change in history you're working from here, Seira?

[Corwin]

I'm trying to see the actual history rather than an AU to first tell if it works, and second to see how detailed/correct it would be.

[Anastasia]

You focus and the letters form indistinct blobs, nothing solidifying at all.

[Corwin]

Seira takes note of this and focuses on a timeline where she never called Kascha back to life at her side.
