Daggedal notices that the spines are well used, quite a few of them are torn in various places.   The writting on the spines was faint, but a glance revealed that about a quarter of them were in a script he couldn't decipher.

Of those he could understand, there was a set of ten volumes entitled "The Order:  The path of peace and prosperity."  Another couple volumes were titled, "Leading you people."  Some other titles dealt with home repair, one with cooking, a history of Glenview, an comparative history of the midlands.  The rest were even less interesting than those he noted.

Lafiel reaches the door an opens it, she turns back to look at Daggedal.  Noticing his actions, she speaks.

"You're welcome to read them, but be careful they're old and fragile.  Quite a few are written in the old toungue.  My uncle is trying to translate them, without as much success as he would like."

"I'll be upstairs down the hall.  I hate the stench in this room if you want to stay."

Daggedal shrugs. "I'll have a word with him about these books later. 'till then.. perhaps you can tell me a little more about the world, m'lady."

He heads off after Lafiel..

Rackham blinked when he saw Nirae run off, and then without hesitation ran off after her.  She was a constant, and she drew trouble.  Rackham LIKED trouble.

"What would you like to know, Mr... " she queried as began to ascend some stairs.

Rackham tore off after Nirae.  She had a bit of a lead and slowly pulled away from the running man.

He watched, from a distance of 100 yards as a wolf jumped at his friend.  He noticed that were four trailing the lead one.

"Orcsbane. Daggedal Orcsbane at yer servace, m'lady."

He scratches his chin, which has a fair bit of stubble on it.

"Magic, m'lady. Scholar of magic, m'self, and wouldn't mind learnin' a few spells of this land. And, er, you can tell me 'bout the people. Always good to know what I'm dealin' with."

Rackham grinned with malicious glee, and he strove to run faster.  He pressed a hidden button on his scythe, unfastening the blade at the bottom.  He unraveled the chain connected to said blade, ready to launch it as soon as he drew close enough.  His blood sang.

"Nirae!  Five wolves," he bellowed, hoping his warning reached in time.

"It's nice to meet you Mr. Daggedal."

"I'm afraid I can't tell you much about magic.  My uncle has taught me a few things about healing, but that's all.  Except to work the teleporter rod."

"I know he learned the spells to contact you and bring you here from some of those books in his study.  He's spent his life translating them, it was a project he worked on with Zaphiel.  It is said only the chosen may practice magic untainted upon the land now.  I think the sickness that afflicted that woman earlier was a result of this."

She walked as she spoke, leading Daggedal into a hallway.  She passed a closed door that was immediately to their right proceeding a bit further along until the came to the middle of the hallway.  To their right was a set of sliding double doors, and to their left appeared to be the entrance.

"Are you truly here to help my uncle?"

Daggedal stretched. "'course I am. I'm a soldier. I don't go back on me word.

What's with 'One of the Chosen?' I'm alf-dead 'already if I can't use me spells."

Lafiel smiled gently.  "That's good to hear."

She opened up the sliding doors and walk through them.  They openend up into a room with a stairway visible in front of them, extending up from the middle of the room, you could walk around it in either direction.

"The chosen are those special children born randomly.  It usually runs in families, but isn't confined to them.  They are marked by there hair color and then tested when they come of age."

She walked up the stairs which led to the end of another halway which extended left.  In front of her was a doorway which she opened.

"Wait here," she said as she slipped in to room.

Drall tries to twist clockwise, turning away from the leaping wolf and toward the one clamped onto his wrist, reaching for a knife to slash at the wrist-wolf's eyes to dislodge it.

Drall's sword fell from his grasp as he lostpower in the hand.  He turn slashed just mthe wolf across the eye Drall turned and his offhand slashed across the face of the wolf, missing the eye, but slashing the face and nose deeply.

The wolf gave a yelp as it lost it's grip and landed on top of the sword.

The wolf that had lunged at Drall, was hit in the side by Areal's thrown daggar.  It's momentum carried it into Drall and both went down, the wolf biting into Drall's shoulder.

OOC:  everyone in this group can move now.

Dracos

O'karn grinned as he spun from the wolf, taking a massive step forward and bringing his sword down on the remaining wolves and the idiotic Drall in a mighty sloping strike.

Fearless Leader
I assume I'm within that range of him.  If not, assume I take the necessary range of motion forward to slash the remaining enemies into pieces.  Just a reminder too, if Drall is a good guy, my sword is extra hungry for his blood ^_^
Well, Goodbye.

Drall tries to kick the wolf in a sensitive area while checking if his left and right arms are able to be used.  If his right arm can be used, he will try to pull back the white robe, hopefully dislodging the wolf.  If his left arm can be used and is still holding the knife, he will slash at any part of the wolf he can reach.

As soon as he can, he will try to grab his fallen sword from under the wolf with his right hand, as long as he can still use it.
