We'll cover a few lines of that while Marie and Alicia's avatar get in position.

Syala heads over to Taldeer as she is healed, "Yes, do tell."

Taldeer merely begins to tell her tale, "I was visiting Coolwater Oasis to meet with a local wizard of some talent. During my time in the town, I saw signs of Shar's influence so I investigated. I ended up traveling and searching a particular sub basement - the ground is remarkably good for basements despite the aquifer, what a curious thing - when I was ambushed."

"Ambushed by what?" Alicia asks so as to learn what else might be down there beyond those twelve shadows. And also what the Sylican reinforcements going to secure the town might have to deal with.

It occurs to her that this is considerably more flashy a venture than she'd usually commit to on the prime material, but Taldeer being a close personal friend and mentor, the proximity to her old home, and the fact that it's Shar of all things compels her to push on. Shar herself is never shy about throwing her weight around after all.

[Anastasia]

"Shadows and stranger things - masked cultists, adorned with colorful feather decorations. They moved lithely, like dancers or light warriors," Taldeer says, "With magic that torn my own magic apart."

[Ebiris]

"Dispels, or do you mean like metamagic?" Alicia ask at that phrasing.

[Anastasia]

A click of her tongue, "Dispels, but violent dispels. It rended the magic apart. Vicious is the word I can think of it, like the claws of a beast."

[Ebiris]

There's a few spells that work like that, so Alicia merely hums. "What then after you were dispelled? Was it a running fight to where you prayed to me or were you knocked unconscious and woke up there?"

[Anastasia]

"I was overwhelmed," Taldeer admits, going to a nearby bench and sitting. "I knew it was Sharrans and in that moment it reminded me of you. I was hurt and reeling...I suppose I thought of you and called out to you."

"Good instincts," Antenora says, coming over and laying a hand on Taldeer's shoulder. "Not to disparage Mystra, of course."

[Ebiris]

"It worked out for the best," Alicia says. "Sending an avatar and a proxy in response to one prayer, no matter how desperate, is far out of the norm. But we are old friends, so I don't begrudge the effort." She smiles briefly and then glances at Emmaline. "Emmaline, this is Taldeer, priestess of Mystra. She oversaw my initiations into the church, and was there for me when I needed her."

[Anastasia]

Anything else you need from her before we swap back to the other side for a bit? We'll cover chatter IC later, but for now want to try and get the Oasis side done so we aren't constantly going back and forth.

Yeah that's fine, I was hoping she'd know stuff about the layout and defences but it sounds like she wouldn't so we can focus on the other side of it.

[Anastasia]

The door ahead is not trapped, Marie finds.
