Missiles and projectiles fly true, slaughtering yet more demons. They're dropping by the dozens, a chaotic zone of massacre as the stronger surviving ones either rage about or flee. Dying demons are trampled by the attackers and retreaters alike, all chaos before Marie, seemingly undetected and safe as she's wrapped in her illusions. Are there no demons here strong enough to find her?

You'd expect the strongest demons would be at the front, not back here. But you'd also expect someone really strong waiting to handle the expected counter they'd make to shut these portals down. Marie will keep wreaking havoc but she'll preserve her magic for a bit now as she flies around, echoed by her illusory decoy, throwing righteous smites at unlucky clusters of demons with impunity.

"RALLY!" A single word like lightning rips through the demons, focusing them in an instant. A voice from somewhere to your side, a savage snarl, "Find her and rip her apart!"

"I'm over here!" Marie's decoy calls, turning and sending a volley of magic missiles at the owner of that voice!

... In addition, a force missile mage's Magic Missiles might penetrate Shield spells and Brooches of Shielding. Against such protections, the force missile mage makes a caster level check with a DC equal to the caster level, in the case of Shield, or DC 20, in the case of a brooch.

Can just use her SR rolls for those, though she loses 2 points from spell penetration which wouldn't apply. So 40 and 51.

A tall balor armored lightly, looming like a sheer mountain of hate. Missiles fly forth and a shimmering barrier appears to block them. Yet the missiles hit it and the barrier tinkles and shatters, flying through them and peppering the balor. He growls low, a whip brandished as he cries, "No retreat!" Energy crackles around him, clinging to him and surely keeping him entangled within it.
